Campaign websiteClark's campaign website stated the following:Fighting BackIn just a few months, Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans have done unprecedented damage to our country and to Georgia. When I’m in Congress, I will continue to challenge destructive policies and get to work delivering the results families need right now, as I have done in Georgia.Protecting Georgia JobsDonald Trump, Elon Musk, and MAGA Republicans have made unprecedented cuts to Georgia’s federal workforce, including thousands of workers at the CDC in Atlanta. Our federal workers are the foundational force that keep our government running and they deserve our respect. I’ll work side by side with workers and union partners to prevent these reckless cuts, work to restore Georgia jobs and strengthen protections so future administrations can’t destroy our workforce again.Restoring Research Funding And Stand Up For ScienceI have been a research scientist, and know firsthand that the cuts to research funding–especially when it comes to the CDC and NIH–are unsustainable . Years of research on life changing issues like: asthma and air pollution, cancer treatments, measles-rubella, and HIV, have been lost due to attacks on science. From the moment I stepped into the political space as the organizer for the Atlanta March for Science, I’ve been known as a “Voice for Science” in Georgia, and I hope to continue this work in Congress as the first woman with a science PhD. Rebuild With Experts and Bring Facts Back to U.S GovernmentRebuilding trust in our government starts with putting experts back in charge and making decisions rooted in facts– not personal agendas that do not center the needs of the people. I believe evidence-based policymaking rooted in research, critical thinking, asking questions, and analyzing data– is the key to restoring accountability and efficiency in Washington. Together, we can rebuild a government that works for people, informed by science, guided by truth, and focused on real solutions and people's lived experiences.Lowering the Cost of LivingMaking Life Affordable for Georgia familiesThe price of everything is way too high right now. As a working mom, I’m feeling it hard. We need to make things easier and lower costs so everyone has a chance to get ahead. This means raising wages–we’re long overdue for increasing the minimum wage so paychecks keep up with the actual cost of living for working people so your paycheck can go further.Expanding Healthcare MAGA Republicans are attacking our healthcare. For them, it’s just a bargaining chip, but for millions of Americans, healthcare is a crucial lifeline. While the Affordable Care Act has allowed millions of individuals and families to have access to healthcare, rising costs demand that we continue to explore healthcare reforms. Our goal as a nation should be universal access to affordable healthcare, and as we figure that out, our interim policies should ensure people do not have to choose between care and crippling debt. In the richest country in the world, people should not second-guess seeking life-saving care for fear of the cost, and hospitals and doctors offices should not have to close their doors. Make Homeownership Accessible for AllOur congressional district has seen thousands of homes bought up by corporate investors and hedge funds in the last few years–a higher rate than almost anywhere else in the country. These corporate overlords are raising rents, charging arbitrary fees, and not properly maintaining properties. Georgians deserve better–we need to fight back against corporations who are pushing families out of their homes for the purpose of squeezing a few more bucks for their shareholders. A mixture of policies that disincentivize hedge funds buying up all of the housing stock, while creating pathways to homeownership for families is what is needed, across the board, to tackle this pressing issue. In the state legislature, I’ve been proud to fight for real regulations to rein in corporate greed in our housing market and I’ll continue the same fight in Congress.Protect Education At Every Stage of LifeAs a college educator and a mother of two public school students, I know firsthand that education is under attack by Republicans trying to politicize our schools and divert funding to unaccountable private and charter schools. We need bold leadership that stands up for our teachers and students, fully funds our schools, and protects them from political attacks.Lower the Price of Childcare and Pre-K for AllThe cost of daycare is astronomical –and as a mom who put two kids through it while in school getting my PhD, I know this firsthand. The average cost of daycare in Metro Atlanta has soared to nearly $1,000 a month–a cost that most families either cannot afford or have to make major sacrifices in order to do so. As a state legislator , I’ve co-sponsored bills that would provide a state earned-income child tax credit to ease the burdens for families but we need to go further. During COVID, Congress expanded the child tax credit, which dramatically reduced child poverty in our country. In Congress I would pursue evidence-based policies, like this, that work for the people that need it most. When we see policies that actually work to lift up families, we should embrace, not abandon, them. Increase K-12 FundingK-12 schools are massively underfunded–our teachers still aren’t being paid enough and our school buildings are still falling apart. States like Georgia have passed voucher scams that take money away from our public schools to benefit wealthy private schools. Republicans in Congress have deliberately sought to damage the department of education, and remove critical funding meant to serve many of our students. In Congress, I will push for legislation that invests in all children, protects Title I, II, and III funding from malicious cuts, and provides funding for mental health, school safety, and expansion of free school lunch.Protect Higher Education from Political AttacksThe Trump administration has launched an unprecedented attack on higher education systems–and many colleges and universities have been forced to make a decision to either bend the knee or risk losing critical funding. As a college professor who is on a college campus every day, I know that we can foster a safe and academically free campus without intervention from DC Republicans. I have experienced how diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus creates an inclusive environment where students are encouraged to explore opportunities and open doors they believed were closed to them. In Congress, I will push back against Republican interference on college campuses and fight for investments in access to higher education for students everywhere. Safeguard our HBCUsAs the mother of an HBCU student, I know the importance of these powerful institutions. Historically, HBCUs have much smaller endowments than their PWI counterparts. This reality means that these institutions often are required to do more with less when it comes to infrastructure, programming, and financial aid for students. With the Trump administration playing games with funding and recent disturbing incidents on HBCU campuses across the country, now more than ever these schools need more than empty promises and photo ops, and instead, need our full support. In Congress, I will be a leading advocate for protecting and strengthening HBCUs, PBIs, and minority serving institutions both in Georgia and around the country.Investing in Trades and Apprenticeship ProgramsAs a state legislator serving on the Higher Education Committee, “workforce development” and “high demand jobs” are words that are used often. Investment in apprenticeship programs that allow individuals to be trained in the industries with high demand contributes to our economy and empowers families. In Congress, I will be a champion for investment in apprenticeships, including union apprenticeship programs.Build an Economy That Works for All of UsToo often, the economy feels rigged–the rich are getting richer and working people are finding it harder and harder just to get by. I want to build an economy where everyone has a chance to actually get ahead and build wealth–not just those who were born into it.Billionaires and Corporations Should Pay Their Fair ShareIt hasn’t even been a year in office and Trump has already given corporations a $77 billion tax break–enough to cover the costs of Pre-K for almost every 3- and 4-year-old child in the country. The first step to building a more just economy is to repeal the Trump tax cuts and make the wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share so we can fund programs that actually help people get ahead.Help Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs GrowGeorgia’s 13th Congressional District is filled with small businesses, entrepreneurs, and family-owned companies who are looking to grow and thrive. While there are many opportunities for small businesses to receive grants, low-interest loans, and credits, many entrepreneurs are unaware or find it difficult to navigate finding these funds. As a Congresswoman, I would have dedicated constituent services specifically for helping local small businesses find grants, loans, and tax credits to both help them grow their businesses and stay afloat when times get tough.Build the Innovation Economy for the FutureOur world is changing fast–and the government should be adapting to help our new economy grow and thrive. We need to reassert ourselves as a leader on emerging technologies –whether that be AI, blockchain, or cryptocurrencies–by working with experts to craft a smart, clear regulatory framework to help the industry grow and protect consumers from bad actors. We must also work to bridge the digital divide by investing in digital access, literacy and education so everyone can thrive in our new world. Emerging technologies and innovation can and should be deployed to help build wealth in typically underserved communities and I look forward to working to build the framework to make that possible.Protect our UnionsThe right for workers to freely organize without employer interference is an American value that must be upheld. Unions are the foundation for so many of the workplace conventions and protections we have now. The Trump administration has attacked unions and stood on the side of big corporations time and again. I won’t stand for that! I’ve stood alongside our union brothers and sisters in Georgia while republicans in our state have attacked them and I’ll stand alongside them again in Washington, DC.Protect Our Rights and the Most VulnerableMAGA Republicans have launched attacks against our most vulnerable neighbors–they’ve locked people up, stripped away rights, and made public shows of sending in the military and National Guard to peaceful cities. This is not the kind of America we want. I want to build a more humane America where we look after one another, not throw our neighbors in jail. Stop Unconstitutional ICE RaidsFrom Day One, the Trump administration has broken the law by sending in ICE to terrorize cities, locking up law abiding families, and on multiple occasions, deporting people who are lawfully here. In Georgia, we bore witness to an ICE raid at the Hyundai factory that horrified even Republicans and had Donald Trump and our governor begging for forgiveness. Across the country we are seeing masked men in unmarked vehicles go after people in hospitals, places of worship, and schools. Those taken are transported to unaccountable detention centers with inhumane conditions, or sometimes deported to countries where they have no ties. These raids have petrified our communities, sending many into hiding and destroying the vibrancy of our diverse communities. In Congress, I vow to hold the Trump administration and ICE accountable when they illegally raid our cities and lock up our neighbors–ICE cannot hide behind their masks when they come into our community. We also need to end the practice of “disappearing” detainees–we need transparency on where we’re housing inmates and push for better conditions closer to home so detainees can have access to their lawyers and families. Restore Reproductive HealthcareI am horrified that my daughter, who is 17 years old, has fewer reproductive rights than I did at her age. In the legislature, I fought tooth and nail against Georgia’s abortion ban. We warned that this law would criminalize doctors, miscarriages, and reproductive healthcare emergencies. We said it would lead to deaths as healthcare decisions were taken out of the hands of doctors and patients. Since then, we have seen exactly that. Georgia has made headlines as three Black women–Amber Thurman, Candi Miller, and Adriana Smith, all of whom lived in the 13th Congressional District, have died as a direct result of this barbaric law. As Dobbs gave the power to the states to ban reproductive care, the federal government must take action to ensure that everyone who needs it has access to full reproductive services, including access to contraceptives, STI testing, cancer screenings, and abortions. In Congress, I will work to codify the right to privacy in medical decisions.Protect LGBTQ+ RightsI am extremely concerned about the rapid rollback of LGBTQ+ rights in this country. While people are concerned about the rising cost of living, losing their healthcare, and safe communities, Republicans have been hyperfixated on attacking people for who they are or who they love. In the GA state legislature, I fought to oppose these discriminatory bills. I’ll do the same in Congress, and make sure we’re making real progress to expand civil rights protections by passing the Equality Act.Build Safer Communities We Want to SeeWe should dream big in building the communities we want to raise our families in. That means not only pushing for better schools, roads, and infrastructure, but also investing in building safer communities so everyone can feel they can exist without worry.Common-Sense Gun Regulations and Assault Weapon BanI’ve been a consistent advocate for smart gun regulations in the Georgia legislature–from partnering with local police to hold gun safety trainings, to joining my colleagues for a strong push for a tax credit for gun safes and locks. But in Congress we need to go further–if we’re serious about keeping our children safe, we need to take federal action. I’ll push for a real assault weapon and bump stock ban, comprehensive background checks and safe storage laws, and legislation to hold gun manufacturers and groups like the NRA accountable for their actions.Criminal Justice ReformIn the legislature, I’ve worked closely with local law enforcement, partnering on community events to foster dialogue and build stronger partnerships with our community members. But I also believe that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” and know that investments in crime prevention and intervention are just as, if not more, important than punishment. True criminal justice reform acknowledges that incarceration is not the only path. The federal government can and should incentivize state and local governments investments in afterschool programs, wraparound services, mental health services, diversion programs, and co-responder programs. Additionally, in Congress, I would partner with Sen. Ossoff to continue to investigate Georgia’s prison system and co-sponsor the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to ensure that everyone in our community has a chance for safety.Stop Environmental Racism and Protect Our ClimateLast fall our entire district watched in horror as they were forced indoors for days after the chemical fire at the BioLab plant in Rockdale County. We still don’t know the lasting effects of this fire on our health–and with Trump’s attempts to dismantle the EPA, it is unlikely that people will be able to accurately find out. Corporate accountability and transparency are essential in these instances. We need real regulations to hold polluters who come into our communities accountable and I’ll push for real reparations for victims of environmental harm like the BioLab fire. Further, I want to leave behind a planet for my children that’s better and cleaner than the one I was born into. I would push to restore the progress that the Biden administration made that’s been destroyed by Congressional Republicans who side with polluters.Rein in Data Center DevelopmentAll across the country, data centers are popping up–and in the process sucking communities dry (literally) of resources while causing power bills to go up. A new 1-million-square-foot data center has been proposed in Congressional District 13–right in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Ellenwood. This comes on the heels of two smaller data centers being built in Clayton County–where commissioners passed a moratorium to study the effects of what these centers will actually have on our already strained communities. In Congress, I’d make sure that if these centers are being built, they’re being built with the community in mind and that big tech companies are taking on the costs, not our taxpayers.Protect our DemocracyDonald Trump, the architect of the January 6 attacks, hasn’t stopped at trying to overturn our elections. Now that he’s in power, he’s using every lever of power he has to try to stay in power indefinitely. From unprecedented mid-decade redistricting to trying to gut the Voting Rights Act, Trump has shown that he is not someone who respects our democracy. We cannot stand by and let this happen. We must push for lasting change so Donald Trump or any despot who comes after him can’t subvert our constitution. Protect the Right to VoteOur right to vote is sacred. The leaders who came before us shed blood for our rights and we are in a constant battle to keep the progress we’ve made. In Georgia more than any other state, Republicans have fought back against their losses by rolling back voting rights by going after absentee voting, Sunday voting, and automatic voter registration. I’ve stood on the front lines and with voting rights advocates including Fair Fight, ACLU of GA, and the NAACP to ensure that everyone’s right to vote is protected. In Congress, I’d co-sponsor the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and be a national voice for all Georgians who want their voices heard.Demand Real Campaign Finance ReformThere’s no universe where we get real campaign finance reform without overturning Citizens United–billionaires are buying our elections with zero accountability. In Congress, I’d sign onto legislation to do just that. I also pledge to take no corporate PAC money–unlike my opponent, who has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from corporations with business in front of his committees.End Partisan GerrymanderingRepublicans have gerrymandered my state house district 3 times in order to defeat me–and I’ve won every time. But this still means I know firsthand the effects gerrymandering has on effective legislating–and it’s not good. Texas, Missouri, and North Carolina deciding to redistrict mid-decade is a disaster–and while I fully support the response from California and other blue states to counteract this, this is unsustainable and a terrible way to govern. We need real, independent redistricting committees drawing district lines, not politicians.Ban Stock Trading by Members of CongressOn both sides of the aisle, there are serious concerns about members of Congress buying and trading stocks while having access to information that may not be public knowledge. This has led to allegations that some members of Congress have used this non-public information to enrich themselves via the stock market. There must be tighter restrictions and controls on members of Congress buying/trading stock while serving. In Congress, I would sign onto the bipartisan legislation that would ban congressional stock trading.Supporting Our VeteransOur veterans have kept us safe overseas and at home and they deserve a government that will give back to them–not one that turns its back on them. We need leadership that understands that our veterans and their families need comprehensive reform at the VA that both parties have ignored; economic opportunities for veterans to survive and thrive; and a guarantee that anyone who has served our country will have their basic needs met.Build A World Class VA Health SystemOur veterans should not have to return home to an inadequate, out-of-date, and understaffed health system. Republicans just cut 25,000 healthcare positions at the VA, demoralizing doctors, nurses, support staff, and veterans alike. I’ll fight hard to not only restore funding for these positions, but also expand funding for treatment and research for mental health and PTSD, recruit and empower physicians and nurses and give them the full tools needed to do their jobs, and push for a plan to modernize facilities to ensure that the VA can adapt in years to come.Support Small Business and Workforce Opportunities for VeteransJust last year, Republicans pulled the plug on almost $200 million worth of funding on veteran owned small buisnesses–causing more than a dozen right here in Georgia to shutter. As your next Congresswoman, I would never hang veterans out to dry. I would work to restore and expand funding for small business grants, fund workforce development, and expand funding for specialized training programs to help match veterans with opportunities for good paying jobs.Provide Resources for Veterans HousingAll vets and their families deserve a place to call home–period. Republican policies have made it difficult for all families to afford the American dream–inculding our veterans. I’ll work to expand resources for VA loans and down payment assistance programs, as well as work with our social services to provide supportive and transitional housing to those who need it. While Republicans in Congress are actively trying to fleece our vets by raising fees on VA mortgages, I’ll fight to lower costs and make sure Congress doesn’t play politics with veteran housing.— Jasmine Clark's campaign website (April 14, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source.
