In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I’m a husband, dad, educator, and school board trustee. I’ve worked in classrooms, driven a school bus, gone back to college later in life, and spent a lot of time listening to families, teachers, and neighbors.

I’m running for the Michigan House because I think Lansing needs more regular people who will do their homework, listen to both sides, and focus on getting things done.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Michigan currently ranks near the bottom nationwide for public education—sitting at 44th in the country. That drop didn't happen by accident. It is the direct result of decades of underfunding, delayed planning, and political games that treat our schools as an afterthought rather than the foundation of our state’s future.

Schools cannot succeed when funding is unpredictable. When current legislators miss budget deadlines, school districts are left in the dark, and students pay the price.

Our students, educators, and families deserve steady leadership and on-time, responsible funding. Michigan must start treating education as a top priority—not a bargaining chip.Leadership is not about volume or spectacle. It is about transparency, consistency, and a genuine respect for the people I serve. Effective leadership begins with listening—first and often—and explaining decisions honestly, even when they are difficult.

Representing a district means serving everyone, not just those who voted for me. Rooted in the principle of loving thy neighbor, I am committed to treating every person with dignity, fairness, and respect, regardless of background or belief.

Steady leadership requires openness, accountability, and earning trust every day. By listening carefully and governing with common sense, I am ready to represent Michigan’s House District 63 with integrity.Strong communities are built through relationships, shared responsibility, and showing up for one another. Community matters because it is where everyday life happens—in our schools, neighborhoods, and local organizations.

I have long supported local efforts that strengthen our community, from helping the Anchor Bay Band Boosters and volunteering with an animal rescue to supporting our local fishing club. Healthy communities depend on people stepping up, lending a hand, and staying engaged.

As your representative, I am committed to supporting policies that strengthen local organizations, protect community spaces, and empower neighbors and volunteers to keep making our district a place we are proud to call home.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am deeply passionate about public education because our schools are the foundation of Michigan’s future. For decades, repeated budget delays and underfunding have forced districts to navigate uncertainty, leaving our students and educators behind.

Every child in Michigan deserves access to a quality education, safe schools, and the resources needed to succeed. We must provide steady, predictable funding, support our teachers, and expand both vocational and academic opportunities for all students.

Investing in education is an investment in our economy, our families, and the long-term strength of our communities. I am committed to making sure our schools receive the priority and steady leadership they deserve.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

We are proud to be building a strong coalition of everyday residents, small business owners, and local leaders who believe in common-sense representation. While our campaign is actively in conversation with various local and state organizations, our focus remains on earning the trust of the people who call District 63 home. Additional formal endorsements will be shared as our campaign progresses.
