Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am Jamie McCurry, a college student at Auburn University who has gone through the public education system here in Alabama. I am currently majoring in journalism

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

To move Alabama’s yearly education rankings out of the 40s by providing the State Board of Education with a fresh perspective to the Republican majority that has been in control since 1995.To ensure that students are taught the most up-to-date, accurate, and complete versions of all subjects, giving them the best possible chance to succeed in this world as it actually is.To support a statewide system that is available and accessible to each child living in Alabama, ensuring that our future will be populated with smart adults who can provide for and protect all of our citizens.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Outside of education policy, I am passionate about electoral reform nationwide.
