In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am running for State Senate because the working class is getting a raw deal.

I am a Journeyman Electrician with the IBEW Local 58 and a lifelong Michigander. For most of my adult life, I have been a worker in construction, warehouses, and industrial workplaces. I understand what it means to work hard, and like many other working-class people, I know the feeling of that hard work not being fairly rewarded.

The working class creates all value in society, but receives very little of that wealth back. Instead, the profits made by the workers enrich those at the top – CEOs, stockholders, and capitalists – who leech off the efforts of wage earners. Their lavish lifestyles are built off the sweat of our brows! It's time we said: Enough!

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

The working class creates everything that keeps society running. That gives us the right to run it.The ongoing drive towards war in our country only serves those who profit from conflict. It is the working class that is asked to pay the price, up to the sacrifice of young workers’ lives! An assault on one part of the working class soon becomes an attack against the entire working class. The differences between us – our race, where we come from, or how much we earn – have been used in an attempt to divide and weaken us.

An injury to one is an injury to all!

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

A job with a living wage for everybody.

Everyone willing and able to work should be guaranteed employment. That work, no matter what it is, should provide a living wage for the worker and their family. The profits created by workers should benefit those workers through their paychecks and public services.
