Jaclyn Baker graduated from Elk Lake High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Mansfield University in 1994 and a graduate degree from Wilkes University in 2004. Her career experience includes working as an educator.[1]

Jackie Baker grew up right here, learning early on the values of hard work, accountability, and standing up for your neighbors. Jackie Baker is a public school teacher, a proud mother of three, and a lifelong Pennsylvanian. For over 15 years in the classroom, Jackie has spent her career helping our kids succeed, listening to parents, and stretching tight school budgets to get results.

Living in a district where rural family farms meet suburban and urban neighborhoods, Jackie sees the pressures local families face every day. She knows firsthand that our schools need reliable state funding, our small towns need modern infrastructure, and our working families need real property tax relief so senior citizens can afford to stay in their homes.

Jackie isn’t a career politician. She’s running for PA State Senate to bring a mother’s determination and a teacher’s practical problem-solving to Harrisburg. Her commitment is simple: put working families over partisan politics, protect our local quality of life, and ensure every community in our district gets its fair share.

Jackie and her husband live in Susquehanna County with their children, dog, and the Kune Kune pigs that they raise on their small homestead.

Invest in Our Public Schools & Lower Property Taxes

Quality education shouldn’t come at the cost of driving seniors and families out of their homes. Jackie will advocate for increasing the state’s share of public school funding to reduce the heavy burden placed on local property taxes. Jackie will support investments in public education, ensuring all students receive high-quality education in PA. Jackie will lower taxes for working families and seniors by closing corporate tax loopholes and making massive corporations pay their fair share.Protect Local Control, Infrastructure, & Rural Hospitals:

Rapid expansion and large-scale industrial projects, like data center development, shouldn’t bypass the concerns of local residents. Jackie will fight to ensure local municipalities retain zoning authority, protect ratepayers from unfair energy cost hikes, and secure state infrastructure funds to repair our roads and bridges and to expand broadband internet services throughout the district. Jackie will vote for a moratorium on data center development so that our local communities aren’t taken advantage of by billionaire’s big tech.

Jackie supports direct, sustainable funding mechanisms for local volunteer fire, EMS departments, & rural healthcare.Support for Our Veterans:

Jackie is dedicated to expanding support for commonwealth veterans and their families. Jackie prioritizes increasing access to rural healthcare and mental health services, expanding tax credits for veteran-owned businesses, and securing dedicated state funding to tackle veteran housing instability.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Community Health & Wellness: Jackie is dedicated to expanding access to rural healthcare & community health services that support every stage of life, including supporting hospitals, & mental health services. Jackie will champion state investments into modernizing schools, remediating toxic hazards, like lead and mold, and protecting drinking water.

Jackie will advocate for equitable access to clean air and water for all communities, support policies that reduce pollution from industrial sources in vulnerable areas, and

promote community engagement in environmental decision-making processes.

Jackie will support investments in public education, ensuring all students receive high-quality education in PA.
