Defending Life: Jackie has been endorsed by National Right to Life, Indiana Right to Life, and Susan B. Anthony List. Jackie has maintained a 100% voting record with National Right to Life and will continue to champion legislation to protect the unborn.
Second Amendment: From her time in the Indiana State House where she co-authored Indiana’s lifetime hand gun permit legislation to her work now Congress, Jackie is committed to defending the Second Amendment and protecting the right to bear arms. Jackie has been endorsed by the NRA.
Cut wasteful spending: Washington is broken. With our national debt standing at nearly $19 trillion and counting, Jackie firmly believes we must put a stop to runaway spending to protect future generations and sustain a strong economy. Jackie supports a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution, a model that worked in the State of Indiana, to ensure the president and Congress live within their means and stop overspending money that we simply do not have.
Creating jobs: Coming from a small business family, Jackie knows what it takes to run a successful small business. While serving in the State Legislature, Jackie was part of the team that supported important reforms to lower taxes and create a better environment for economic growth. Jackie understands how to get Hoosiers back to work, and will continue to work on commonsense reforms in Washington.
Repeal Obamacare: Jackie opposes the president’s health care law, otherwise known as Obamacare. So far, the health care rollout has negatively impacted the American people, who are experiencing cancelled health care plans and soaring premiums—which President Obama promised would not happen under this law. To date, Obamacare has resulted in hundreds of job losses for small businesses, hospitals, and schools in the Second District, causing economic hardship and frustration for hardworking Hoosiers. Instead of forcing Americans to enroll in a broken system that does not address our nation’s health care problems, Jackie supports a step-by-step approach to improve health care and lower costs.[159]
