In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I remember standing in line on election day in the early 1990's and casting my votes. I had faith that the election was safe and accurate. Since the advent of mail in voting, I have NOT had that same feeling. My Indonesian wife was offered a chance to register to vote, even though she is not a US citizen. She refused that opportunity because we obey the laws of the land. NON-CITIZENS are NOT ALLOWED TO VOTE. Currently there are 29,000+ non-citizens registered to vote and the Secretary of State knows who they are, but has not yet purged them from the voter rolls. Election Integrity is my #1 concern.

Reducing taxes on individuals and on businesses so that Oregon can once again attract businesses (EMPLOYERS) to the state is issue #2. Without business, the economy stagnates and dies. Good jobs with living wages will help correct the homelessness problem, as well as the funding for schools, law enforcement and first responders, and other issues for which state and local governments are responsible.

Education is #3. Having no graduation requirements, no truancy enforcement, a lack of qualified teachers, and a lack of funding has put Oregon at #47 in the nation for educational outcomes. High School grads who can't read or do basic math can't very well work at jobs that require those skills. 4th grade reading ability is at #50. That is unacceptable and must change. We must return to the basics in education and stop the Socialist indoctrination going on.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

First, I will listen to the constituents within my district and represent their will. Currently, our state senator is unresponsive when I reach out with my concerns. I was a union rep in the 90's and worked to protect the interests of my fellow employees, but also worked with management on GOOD policies in order to get the employees on board to implement those policies. Good ideas can come from anyone and from anywhere. Good ideas should be explored and tried. Bad ideas should be tossed out, no matter from where or from whom they come. You, the voter, need someone in the State Senate who will listen to you and respond in a timely manner. That is NOT what we are getting from the incumbent. You will get that from me.Second, I will ensure that our elections are clean and accurately reflect the will of the people. Our Secretary of State and our local elections offices are required by law to keep the voter rolls clean. That means dead people should not be voting, non-citizens should not be voting, single family homes with 2-3 residents should NOT be getting 20-30 mail-in ballots at their homes. Regular audits need to be done. Verification of actual residence within the state, county, or district need to be done. Neutral parties need to be involved in the verification of ballots. But even more important, proof of citizenship and eligibility should be a basic requirement to register and photo ID required on election day in order to cast a ballot.Third, I will support law enforcement in their duties and responsibilities to serve and protect our communities. Their hands have been tied by LEFTIST policies, allowing for catch and release of criminals and preventing their cooperation with Federal Law Enforcement to remove illegals from our communities. The current administration in Oregon puts illegals over Oregon citizens time and time again. This is not acceptable and must change. Human trafficking and slavery still exist in our state. The removal of human traffickers, who are also illegal aliens, and restoring those held in slave conditions to these traffickers to their countries of origin is more compassionate than turning a blind eye to it all and allowing it to continue.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about reducing taxes, especially on the homes of retired persons and small businesses. The tax and spend policies of the current state government are killing Oregon as people and businesses vote with their feet and leave the state.

I am passionate about teaching our children to READ, WRITE, and do basic MATH. Not all students are college-bound. Education should not be cookie-cutter, mass-producing young people who have been indoctrinated to hate each other based on skin color and to hate America based on rewritten history. Reason and intellect should be encouraged. The ability to communicate thoughts and ideas should be promoted, not stifled. Civics need to be restored to the classroom.
