A senator can not only deal with the highest levels of governments but also the state, counties, and cities.

No, just have the ability to learn and not be afraid to ask questions.

Credibility, knowledge, and personality (people have to work with this person).

Yes, I do believe it to be beneficial, but a working relationship with real understanding of the goal is better.

It really does not matter because I am going to focus on Texas anyway.

If you are not currently a member of your party’s leadership in the U.S. Senate, would you be interested in joining the leadership? If so, in what role?

I am not interested in being in a leadership role, Texas and my vision for it is my focus.

There is no model for the type of senator I will be. I will focus on the counties because our quality of life and standard of living is local, not in Washington, DC.
