In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
As a microbiologist, mother, grandmother, Air Force widow, and an executive with over 30 years of leadership experience, I know how to use data, protect families, and lead through adversity. I am ready to break through insider politics that only benefit a few to put community over politics. For too long, out-of-touch politicians have ignored the rising costs squeezing everyday people, but I know we can tackle affordability together and build a future where everyone thrives.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
AFFORDABILITY
Food, insurance, and housing costs keep climbing. With my background fixing insurance systems, I'll fight for real oversight, consumer protection, and stronger local food access, as well as housing and paths to home ownership.Agriculture and rural lands protection
Agriculture continues to be an economic engine for Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties, yet, rural communities in Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties are also experiencing rapid land development, and urban sprawl, which also affects the natural resources - such as waterways - of the area. Smart Growth policies, road maintenance and emergency services, including internet, are critical to getting products sold and transported, and supporting diversified agritourism as well as direct-to-consumer opportunities are also valuable keys to maintaining a balance. Celebrating our rural cultural heritage is critical. As a former landowner and producer, I want to hear and support the ways that will work.Veterans
Our military and veterans are a large segment of our community and defending earned benefits, protecting the VA from privatization, and protecting our veterans from the wide variety of predatory financial schemes, is of utmost priority to my mission. As a military widow, I will never forget the families and children that also support and serve, and will make sure to advocate for policies and practices that support them, as well.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Real leadership should look like real America. Throughout my career, I've worked to open doors for women and underrepresented voices, and I bring that same commitment to public policy — supporting initiatives that expand access to leadership opportunities in business, government, and beyond. My executive background, combined with a lifetime dedicated to helping women succeed in their careers, is the driving force behind this work.
