In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I’m Gregory Bankos, a husband, father, a youth baseball and football coach, a business intelligence developer, and Republican candidate for Pennsylvania State Senate. I’ve spent more than two decades solving complex problems in the private sector, building data-driven systems, improving operations, and working with teams to deliver real results.
I’m running because Harrisburg needs more accountability, more common sense, and more people who understand the pressures facing working families, small businesses, taxpayers, and local communities. I believe government should be transparent, responsible with taxpayer dollars, supportive of law enforcement, respectful of parents, and focused on practical solutions instead of political games. My 23-year-old son can't live in this district because it is too expensive to live here. My 91-year-old Mother-in-law is still paying school property taxes 40 years after sending her last child through school. We can do better.
My campaign is about bringing a fresh perspective to the State Senate and giving Bucks County families a stronger voice. I’m not a career politician. I’m someone who believes public service should be about listening, solving problems, and putting people before party politics.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Families, seniors, and small businesses are being crushed by rising costs, high taxes, and irresponsible government spending. As a result, PA is the 6th worst state in the nation in terms of people leaving the state.
I will fight to protect taxpayers, support economic growth, reduce unnecessary burdens, and make Pennsylvania a place where people can afford to live, work, raise a family, and retire.Harrisburg needs more accountability, transparency, and common sense. Too often, decisions are made to benefit political insiders, special interests, or party leadership instead of the families, taxpayers, and communities those decisions affect.
I believe elected officials should answer to the people they represent. That means being honest about how taxpayer dollars are spent, making government easier to understand, and standing up when policies hurt working families, small businesses, seniors, and local communities.
Voters deserve a senator who listens, shows up, explains their votes, and puts people before politics.Every family deserves to live in a safe community. I will stand with law enforcement, support first responders, protect parents’ rights, and push back against extreme policies that make communities less safe. My focus will be practical solutions, local control, and putting families before politics.
Our volunteer Fire Companies are struggling to retain volunteers because of the cost of living in this district. I will support the elimination of state income taxes for any volunteer firemen and women.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am personally passionate about public safety, fiscal responsibility, education, and government accountability. Families deserve safe communities, responsible use of taxpayer dollars, strong schools, and elected officials who are transparent and accountable to the people they represent.
I care deeply about supporting law enforcement and first responders, protecting taxpayers from wasteful spending, defending parents’ rights in education, and making Pennsylvania more affordable for working families, seniors, and small businesses.
At the heart of these issues is a simple belief: government should serve the people, respect local communities, and focus on practical solutions that improve everyday life.
