Campaign website
Hauschild's campaign website stated the following:
Voting – A Fundamental Right
Excerpt: "Citizen participation in elections is an essential part of a well functioning democracy, and the most fundamental part of that participation is the right to vote. Before 2013, North Dakota was recognized for having the best-run elections in the country because of our high participation & nearly zero claims of voter fraud. Nonetheless, during the 2013 legislative session, the Republican super-majority passed voter restrictions that limit our residents’ right to vote by forcing them to have a fully updated I.D. or be turned away from the voting booth."
College Affordability
Excerpt: "As a recent college graduate myself, I know how it feels to have significant student loan debt. It impacts our generation’s ability to purchase our first home, save for retirement, and start a family. I also know that our business community is continually searching for skilled employees to fill the large amount of open jobs in our communities. If we are serious about keeping our young people in North Dakota & filling job vacancies, then we have to get serious about college costs."
Equal Rights & Non-Discrimination
Excerpt: "North Dakotans value fairness and tolerance - not discrimination. In fact, a recent survey done by DFM Research found that 68% of North Dakotans would support non-discrimination legislation for the LGBTQ community."
Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Excerpt: "I plan to support flexible public policy that encourages the formation of these partnerships. If we do that, North Dakota can become the best state in the nation for innovation and entrepreneurship."
