What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Economy, Environment, and Education

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about environmental protection. We have to leave the world a better place than we found it if we want it to support future generations.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

My father and grandfather. They showed me what it means to be a better human being.

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

Only the US Constitution.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Honesty and respect of others.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

Honesty. Integrity. Humility

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To give the people a voice that isn't opposing every move they try to make.

What legacy would you like to leave?

A stronger cleaner world.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

That I remember I would have to say the fall of the Berlin Wall.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

I served in the United States military.

What happened on your most awkward date?

I have her a bloody nose when we leaned in to kiss and bumped heads.

What is your favorite holiday? Why?

Halloween. I love the cool crisp night air and the fact that it is a kids holiday and there is little reason for joy by today's standards.

What is your favorite book? Why?

The Art of War, Sun Tzu. It teaches that there are other ways to solve conflict besides violence.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?

Ironman.

What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?

My late wife's urn.

What was the last song that got stuck in your head?

Baby Shark...lol

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Loss of loved ones.

A governor is the top executive authority in his or her state. What does that mean do you?

It means that I should be setting the example of what people are and want to be in my state.

Governors have many responsibilities, which vary from state to state. Which of those do you personally consider the most important in your state?

Upholding the constitutions of both Colorado and the United States.

Different states require governors to have different degrees of responsibility for the state budgeting process. If it were your choice, what do you believe is the appropriate degree of gubernatorial involvement with this process in your state?

I believe it should be a 50/50 set-up.

In most states, governors have the power to make line-item vetoes. If that is true in your state, what would be your philosophy for how and when to use this power?

I would only use it if I believed that whatever was being offered for legislation was not in the best interest of my state and her people.

If the governor's office in your state does not have the line-item veto power, do you believe it should? Why or why not?

If it doesn't I believe it should. No one body of government should have more authority than the next.

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?

Ideal would be if we could set aside our differences and realise that we are all striving for the same outcome.

What do you love most about your state?

The people, the mountains, and the wildlife.

What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?

Coming together.
