Garret Nelson

Garret Nelson earned a high school diploma from Nampa Christian High School and a bachelor's degree from the University of Idaho in 2007. His career experience includes working as a salesman.[2]

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I've been a cattle rancher, pipe welder, equipment and software salesman, and through all that been a husband and father of 9. My priorities as a man and representative are to increase opportunities and remove roadblocks for future generations to build strong families, safe communities, and real wealth. At the state level we can do that through encouraging private business, natural resource development, and individual liberty.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Strong, traditional families make strong societies.Natural resources are the fuel that builds industry, and industry builds wealth for families and nations. Developing natural resources built us into the wealthiest, strongest nation in the world filled with the hardest working, most productive people ever. As individuals and government we need to promote those ideals that made us successful and oppose those that want to tear down our powerful heritage.The point of any government is to secure the rights endowed by God: life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. A big part of the "happiness" phrase in our constitution was the ownership of private property. Government should protect and promote those concepts, not look for ways to erode them through statute or taxes.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Individual freedom free from government constraints, natural resource development, and preserving our unique American history and heritage.
