Background
Frank Henderson served in the U.S. Army.[1]
In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Frank Henderson is an Army veteran, a husband, a father of six, and a proud union member who has spent more than 26 years working in manufacturing. Raised on his family’s farm in Missouri, Frank learned early that hard work means showing up, doing your part, and taking care of the people around you.
Frank served in the U.S. Army as a member of the Signal Corps before beginning his career in manufacturing. As a longtime union member and representative, he has stood beside working people, listened to their concerns, and helped fight for fair treatment on the job.
Frank now lives in Louisburg and is running to represent Kansas House District 6. He is not a career politician. He decided to run because too many everyday Kansans feel unheard and left out of the decisions being made in Topeka.
Frank believes public service should be honest, practical, and focused on people—not political games. He knows we will not always agree, but he believes we can listen to one another, find common ground, and work together without giving up our values.
Frank does not make promises he cannot keep. He promises to show up, listen, tell the truth, and work hard for the people of District 6.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Working people deserve a seat at the table. Kansans work hard for a living, and they deserve a representative who will show up and work just as hard for them. I will stand up for fair wages, safe workplaces, worker protections, and the right to organize. I will listen to working people, support Kansas unions, and make sure the people who keep our communities running have a voice in Topeka.I will work for Main Street, not Wall Street. Kansas families, farmers, and small businesses are being squeezed by rising prices, high costs, and tariffs. Our Legislature should make responsible investments that lower costs, support local businesses, and keep our communities strong. A balanced budget matters and how we spend our money tells people what we care about. The Kansans I know all share one common trait: they care about people. We have to invest wisely in healthcare, infrastructure, and education. Kansas tax dollars should work for Kansans.Every Kansas child deserves a strong education, no matter their ZIP code, family income, or individual needs. I will fight to fully fund our public schools, support teachers and staff, strengthen special education, and keep rural and neighborhood schools open. Taxpayer dollars should improve the schools that welcome and serve every child. Teachers need more money. Kids need great nutrition. We also need to invest in rural education opportunities and widen access to trade-schools, apprenticeships and other pipelines to skilled labor, while supporting our great state schools. Not every district is the same, and face different challenges- local control is important.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
It is simple for me. If you work 40 hours a week you ought to be able to feed your family and take them to the doctor when they're sick. And if you do that your whole life you ought to have something to show for it. Working people and organized labor are at the heart of why I am running. I have been a union member for more than 26 years, and I know what a difference it makes when workers have a real voice on the job. Unions help people earn fair wages, work in safer conditions, receive good benefits, and retire with dignity. Kansas succeeds when the people doing the work can support their families and share in the prosperity they help create.
