In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Francesca Yabraian is a first-generation American whose lifelong commitment to service has shaped her dedication to public leadership.

Her parents immigrated to the United States from Argentina on July 4, 1965, after escaping the dictatorship of Juan Perón. They came seeking freedom, opportunity, and the promise of the American Dream—values Francesca now fights to protect for future generations.

Growing up with dyslexia and epilepsy, Francesca was told she would never make it past eighth grade. In eighth grade, a teacher publicly humiliated her by giving her a degrading “brainless” award in front of her classmates. Instead of allowing that cruelty to define her, Francesca turned the pain into determination. With the support of her family and teachers who believed in her, she overcame those barriers, earned a degree in Government and World Affairs from the University of Tampa, and was selected as a commencement speaker.

Francesca has more than 20 years of experience in information technology and has served in emergency management roles with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the DHS. Her career has taught her the importance of preparation, accountability, transparency, and putting people first.

She is running for the Florida House because she believes politics must serve the people—not corporations, developers, or political insiders. Francesca will always show up, listen, and fight for what is right. She believes every resident matters.
