In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

As the oldest daughter of immigrant parents, I learned early the values of hard work, service, and responsibility. I am running to be California’s next Lieutenant Governor, bringing more than two decades of experience in public finance and legislative leadership.

I currently serve as California State Treasurer, first elected in 2018 and reelected in 2022. I oversee more than 3 trillion dollars in state assets and work with boards and authorities that help Californians save, invest, and grow our economy.

Previously, I served on the California Board of Equalization and helped lead reforms to improve accountability and efficiency.

I was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, where I focused on small business development, human rights, and combating human trafficking.

In the California State Assembly, I served as Speaker pro Tempore and authored more than 60 bills signed into law, including legislation banning toxic chemicals in baby products and expanding protections for survivors of domestic violence.

I have been a licensed CPA since 1992 and hold degrees from Rochester Institute of Technology, Golden Gate University, and Pepperdine University.

I have earned the sole endorsement of the California Labor Federation, support from more than 50 unions, 600 elected officials across 58 counties, and backing from 75 percent of the state legislature.
