In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Hello, my name is Eric Shaw and I am a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, 48th District, which includes Temecula, Murrieta, Palm Springs, Hemet, Escondido, Vista, our Tribal friends and our rural neighborhoods near the Salton Sea, down to the Mexican border, coming back north through cities in northern San Diego County.

I have lived in Temecula with my wife and four kids for over 12 years. We love the community and the life we have built here, which is one of the reasons why I'm running. I want to see the 48th District live up to its maximum potential and beyond.

Growing up in the Midwest for half my life and California for the other half gives me a unique perspective from both sides of the aisle. As a digital marketing entrepreneur who has built businesses right here in Southern California, I know what it takes to negotiate, deliver results, and solve real problems with limited resources.

My actions will mirror your voices.

This is NOT Republican vs. Democrat. We must work together. We are everyday people fighting the same battles. It is time to drop the rhetoric and bridge the gap between us with principled leadership.

Also, if you have not spoken to a relative, friend, or coworker due to politics, I humbly ask that you reach out and say hello. Life is too short to let a stranger tear your family apart.

Thank you,

My name is Eric Shaw, candidate for U.S. House of Representatives, 48th District. I approve this message.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

On the affordability crisis. Tariffs are touching every family and every business in the district. I will fight to lower costs on groceries, gas, housing, and the supplies small businesses depend on.On public safety including LGBTQ+ rights. Every family in this district deserves to feel safe. Public safety is not a partisan issue and neither is the right to live without fear regardless of who you are or who you love.On Tribal sovereignty. Tribal nations in the 48th district are sovereign governments. I will fight for their water rights and their seat at the table in every decision that affects this district.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Bridging the gap between Democrats and Republicans is what drives me more than anything else in this race.

I have sat at tables with conservatives and progressives my entire adult life and most of them want the exact same things. Affordable lives, safe neighborhoods, and a government that actually functions. Somewhere along the way they stopped talking to each other.

What concerns me deeply is that Congress has largely stepped aside while the executive branch operates with very little accountability.

The honest truth about why I filed to run is simple. I got tired of sitting on the sidelines complaining about a broken system while doing nothing about it. I talked about the problem long enough. Running for Congress is my action for change
