Facism and Climate Change are existential threats and we need to face them with urgency and a willingess to use every lever of power at our disposal!Affordability is a crisis right now, and from groceries to gas to childcare to healthcare, its because the rich and corporations are trying to screw us over. But we have the power to fight back!We can craft smart policy! Policies which solve multiple problems at once, and which genuinely make people's lives better and easier are available to us. Often they are quite simple to enact. We just need to have the will to actually do them!
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Conservation, worker protections, public tenasit and other infrastructure, education, healthcare, domestic abuse and violence protection, childcare and child protection, anti-authoritarianism, free speech, freedom from surveilance and control, anti-trust, fighting corporate greed and power.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Honesty, trustworthiness, clear communication, humility, solidarity, vision.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To work on behalf of real people, the everyday ordinary people, not corporations, the super wealthy, or fascist ideology. To be both amibtious and visionary in your policy goals and responsible and thoughtful in your implimenation.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
Doing odd jobs for a general contractor who was a friend of the family and helping my neighbor with their flower farm where my first types of work as a young teen. Being a ride operator at Palace Playland amusement park was my first job for an actual corporation.
Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?
Yes, when the compromises make sense and we are all genuinely trying to make the world better for people. BUT I believe that "compromise" or "bipartisanship" are often used as excuses to not actually work for the people, and instead to enact a pro-corporation/pro-wealth agenda.
