Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am just a regular guy who has experienced most of the trials and tribulations that other everyday people may have. I've been homeless, evicted and hungry at some point of my life including adulthood. I've fought to get my college degrees and even have published two great books. I'm a person that looks at himself in the mirror and sees a man not complete but still a work in progress. I have 3 beautiful children (2 boys, 1 girl) and was married for 14 years.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I want to fully subsidize school funding by utilizing the state budget surplusI wish to help families obtain normal living by fighting for a higher state minimum wage increase and a cap on cost of living annual increasesI want to rejuvenate neglected communities by improving commercial infrastructure

School funding, minimum wage increase
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
My grandmother taught me so many valuable lessons by mouth and example. I have always admired her and will continue to live and teach by her examples.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
To be a true representation of the people that are in the communities that I would be elected for. To make sure the people are taken care of and to honor the promises I gave while running for Senator.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To be the same person that was on the campaign trail. To be truthful and forthcoming in all aspects. And to be willing to fight for the persons that places you in office.
What legacy would you like to leave?
To be seen as someone that was there for the people that needed to be heard. To be someone that my family, friends and anyone on the street could look up to and want to emulate.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
I was a dishwasher at a iconic restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. It was a great beginning to the career that I have today. I had that job for 2 years.
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
To not know how to help. To not know when I shouldn't be someone that listens and drives to be the person people can depend on.

What was the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember?
The shuttle Challenger exploding was the very first historical event that I can remember that was something that played on my mind and set my life in a direction that I have continued on to this day.
