In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Pastor Eric Wendel Lee, Sr. is a lifelong servant leader and Senior Pastor of Springfield Baptist Church, one of metro Atlanta’s most impactful ministries, where he has led with purpose and passion for over two decades. A third-generation pastor and third-generation college graduate, Eric earned his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and his Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University Divinity School on a full scholarship. His life’s work has been spent at the intersection of faith, community, and service, leading workforce development initiatives, advocating for children and families, and partnering with local governments and organizations to strengthen communities across metro Atlanta.

Since becoming Senior Pastor in 1999, Eric has guided Springfield Baptist from a congregation of roughly 162 members to a church family of over 7,000, building an institution that provides education, outreach, and critical services to families across Newton, Rockdale, and surrounding counties.

Eric Lee is running for State Senate because families are facing more challenges than ever and our politicians are doing less and less about it. We face rising costs, crumbling health, diminished health care access, and underfunded schools, We need representatives who understand the stakes of this moment and will fight for every family from every zip code to ensure that hard work is rewarded and the promise that the next generation will be just a little bit better off than ours is ensured.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

AFFORDABILITY - Putting Money Back in Georgians' Pockets

Every family in District 42 is feeling the squeeze. The cost of living has outpaced wages, and too many of our neighbors are having to choose between the rent and the grocery bill. I will fight for:OPPORTUNITY — Growing Georgia for All Georgians

Georgia has not raised its minimum wage in 25 years. Let that sink in. While prices have climbed, wages have stood still. That is not a Georgia I accept.COMMUNITY - Because Where We Live Shapes Who We Become

A community is measured not just by its economy, but by its soul. I believe every Georgian deserves to live somewhere safe, healthy, and full of opportunity.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

- Affordable Housing and First Time Home Buyers Incentives (Today, the average age of a first time home buyer is 40 years old - This is unacceptable)

- Lower healthcare costs and expansion of Medicaid (Hospital closings are unacceptable)

- Education funding that prepares every child without drowning families in debt

- Investment in Georgia's infrastructure, proud farming heritage and rural communities

- Green jobs and clean energy industries that build our future economy

- Real solutions to the rising costs of gas and groceries

Public health infrastructure

Mental health services

Community infrastructure - Libraries, parks, recreation centers, and green trails
