In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

As a New Hampshire native, I grew up surrounded by our beautiful lakes and mountains. I know instinctively what makes Conway so special. It has been my home for more than two decades.

I served on the Conway Budget Committee for seven years and was a Library Trustee. I understand the balance between finances, cultural life and recreational activities. If elected by you, I will use all that accumulated knowledge to ensure New Hampshire and especially Conway prosper long into the future.

Issues that are important to Conway and to me include affordable housing for workers, young families and seniors. As someone who grew up enjoying New Hampshire's lakes and mountains, I will work on legislation to protect those assets which are the center of life for our residents and visitors and provide the financial underpinning on which Conway workers and families depend.

I will work to properly fund our public schools and stop underwriting rich families who the Republican Party is subsidizing via the Education Freedom Account (EFA) vouchers, that were originally meant to aid low-income families, but have turned into a welfare-for-the-rich scam.

I worked in sales for more than 20 years. I understand how to listen and put together packages that suit individual customers. I will apply those skills in the legislature, where bills are cooperatively written. I will keep the public informed at every stage of the process. Since I refuse outside funding, they will be my guiding light.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I will promote legislation supporting state investment in water and sewer infrastructure to help communities like Conway build more housing for first-time buyers, young families, working residents and seniors. For six straight years the GOP majority in Concord has been cutting state taxes for the super-rich and multinational corporations. Think Walmart. Then downshifting the cost to towns, thus forcing property tax increases. I will fight for policies that reverse that trend and ensure the state pays its fair share for Conway's essential services, including public education.

As a former Conway library trustee, I understand children's need for a well-rounded education and for the independence of local library boards to decide what is the best policy for their local libraries and not have outside interest groups dictate policy and ban books. That is un-American and will not happen on my watch. As your Conway, New Hampshire, state representative, I will bring state resources and solutions to meet Conway's local challenges while protecting the quality of life that makes our community special. I will work on the state level to ensure our natural resources, including our lakes and state and national forests and parks, are protected from private interests being allowed to plunder them for profit without concern for what is best for the citizens who live in Conway and the Mount Washington Valley. I will be Conway's strongest advocate in the New Hampshire State House.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I served on the Conway Budget Committee, so I understand how local government works and its relationship to state government.

I will be Conway, New Hampshire's strongest advocate in the New Hampshire State House, with special emphasis on lowering property taxes and building infrastructure to make it easier to build affordable housing for first-time buyers, young families, working residents and seniors.

I will work to ensure our public school children get the resources they need to excel and as a former Conway Library Trustee I will advocate for our public libraries and champion free speech.

I will stand up against private interests and private equity companies to protect our lakes and state and national forests and parks.
