In their own words

Florida Chief Financial Officer

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am Earle Ford, a U.S. Army veteran, former prosecutor, and attorney running to serve as Florida's next Chief Financial Officer. My career has been defined by service, accountability, and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law. After serving our country as an Army paratrooper, I continued my public service at home as a local prosecutor in the 9th Judicial Circuit, fighting for justice in our communities. I later transitioned to the federal service with the IRS Estate and Gift Tax Program, specializing in complex financial audits and tax law compliance—gaining the exact forensic financial expertise required to oversee Florida’s multi-billion-dollar budget.

As a husband and father of two young sons, I am running because the fiscal decisions we make today will directly shape the Florida our children inherit tomorrow. The CFO is the state's ultimate fiscal watchdog. Floridians deserve a leader with the technical background and battle-tested integrity to protect taxpayer dollars, combat skyrocketing insurance fraud, and ensure total transparency in state government.

My background uniquely combines military leadership, courtroom experience, and high-stakes financial auditing. I will bring rigorous, independent oversight to Tallahassee, safeguard our state's economic freedom, and ensure your hard-earned tax dollars are managed with absolute integrity. I am running to secure Florida’s financial future, protect your wallet, and ensure our state remains strong.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Tackling the Insurance Crisis with Forensic Oversight

Florida’s insurance market is a structural failure. With homeowners paying 3-4 times the national average, many are forced to drop coverage entirely. Carriers expect Tallahassee to blindly accept their math, but we need rigorous auditing. Using my experience managing complex IRS audits, I will deploy exact forensic scrutiny to our state's insurance industry. We will open the books, audit rate hikes, and ensure every dollar is justified. The CFO must be a watchdog, not another politician making promises only to do backroom deals. I will demand total transparency and aggressive oversight to stabilize premiums so families can afford to keep the roofs over their heads.Florida’s affordability crisis is no accident. It is the result of systemic corruption and a culture favoring special interests, costing families $500-$900 more per month than neighboring states.

My time as a lawyer in both state and federal government has shown me first hand the impact of fraud, corruption, and cronyism has in our communities. I will build an aggressive, zero-tolerance investigative unit in the CFO’s office to root out vendor fraud, contractor scams, and the political corruption bleeding our budget.

My wife and I feel the same squeeze raising our two boys. We will clean house in Tallahassee, ensure merit-based contracts, and returning stolen money and resources back to taxpayers.Public service is about taking an oath and holding the line. Tallahassee has traded true leadership for political theater, neglecting its duty to protect our tax dollars. Duty, honor, and accountability must be the non-negotiable standards of public office.

Serving as a U.S. Army paratrooper taught me that the mission always comes first. That exact military discipline is missing from the CFO's office.

Guided by values forged in the military and tested in the courtroom, we will restore absolute integrity to Florida’s financial systems, bring battle-tested leadership back to the capital, and secure a prosperous future for the next generation.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

My policy passions center on protecting the financial security of working families.

Property Insurance Reform: Florida's system is a structural failure. I will bring aggressive, forensic oversight to the industry, audit the carriers' math, and stop unjustified rate hikes.

Anti-Corruption: Drawing on my experience prosecuting in the 9th Circuit and conducting complex IRS audits, I am dedicated to rooting out vendor fraud and political pay-to-play systems.

Consumer Advocacy: The CFO must be the ultimate consumer watchdog. I will aggressively protect Floridians from predatory scams, financial exploitation, and corporate abuse, ensuring working families keep more of their hard-earned money.
