In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I am not a career politician. I am accountant, politically engaged, and I;m tired of seeing partisan games played by the old parties taking priority over fiscal management.
My career has been built on understanding and reporting financial data. My ability to operate completely independent of the old parties means that my only allegiance is to you, the voter. My goal is to bring real oversight and transparency back to Jefferson City. You can take that to the bank.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
If a government entity, any entity, wants more of your hard-earned money, they should have the courage to make the ask and put it to a vote. As Auditor, I will aggressively use the full weight of the office to ensure local assessment boards and taxing districts follow the law. No loopholes, no backdoor hikes, and absolutely no skirting the Hancock Amendment!Missouri is on an unsustainable fiscal trajectory, spending money far faster than it comes in. We cannot continue treating one-time surpluses like a permanent blank check. I'm running for Auditor because the state government needs to learn to live within its means, like every family and small business in Missouri. I will flag reckless spending trends before they become a crisis. When local officials mismanage funds or lack basic internal controls, the taxpayers pay the price, literally and figuratively. Every single dollar lost to administrative waste or corruption is a dollar stolen from taxpayers. As Auditor, I will not simply file reports that sit on a shelf. I will hunt down fraud, expose weak controls, and demand immediate accountability to restore public trust in our institutions.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I'm most passionate about improving the structure of government and elections. There is simply no reason that government should operate essentially the same way it did a century ago, but with technology bolted on.
There are far better models for representation available to us than currently exist in Missouri and the broader United States - we can (and should) learn from what works well in other countries and import those methods. Similarly, elections could be run far better, not forcing people into strategic voting, or worse, making their vote largely irrelevant at all.
