In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I'm Drew Cranmer. I'm a data engineer, small business founder, husband, and father from Wichita. I'm not a career politician, and I'm not here to play party games. I analyze complex systems for a living, and when I look at the federal government, the data is clear: both parties have failed.

I've spent my career building data pipelines and software that actually work — systems that have to be honest, accountable, and efficient because the real world demands it. Washington operates by none of those rules. Congress hasn't passed a balanced budget in over two decades. It hasn't declared war since 1941, yet sends Kansas families to fight in conflict after conflict. And it has spent a century quietly hoarding powers that were never meant to leave your county seat.

I'm running as a Libertarian because someone has to be willing to say what most politicians won't: the problem isn't who's in charge. The problem is how much power we've allowed them to accumulate. I've investigated warrantless license plate surveillance happening right here in our community. I've watched the Federal Reserve silently tax working Kansans through inflation while Congress looks the other way. I've seen enough.

The people of Kansas's 4th District are fully capable of governing themselves. They deserve a representative who will actually say no — on principle, not on party instruction.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Congress has not declared war since 1941. Every military conflict since — Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Iran — has been waged under executive authority the Constitution never granted. The Founders were explicit: the power to take the nation to war belongs to the people's representatives, not a single man in the White House. I believe in peace, trade, and non-entanglement. No more undeclared wars. No more blank-check authorizations. No more sending Kansas families to fight and die for conflicts Congress never had the courage to debate. Restore Article I.Congress hasn't passed a balanced budget in over two decades. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve monetizes that debt by expanding the money supply — quietly transferring wealth from working Kansans to those closest to the money-creation machine. Kansas families balance their budgets. Washington should too. I support a full audit of the Federal Reserve and across-the-board spending reductions until the budget is balanced. Washington doesn't have a revenue problem. It has a discipline problem. The Tenth Amendment reserves to the states and to the people all powers not explicitly granted to the federal government. That's not a suggestion — it was the foundational deal. Every layer of delegation is a layer of accountability lost. I will fight to return education, healthcare, land use, and law enforcement policy to the states and localities where they belong. The closer government is to the people, the harder it is to ignore them. The people of Kansas don't need Washington's permission to govern themselves.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I'm personally passionate about privacy and civil liberties — I've investigated warrantless license plate surveillance happening right here in Wichita. When your government tracks where you go, when, and how often without a warrant, you are no longer a citizen. You are a subject.

I'm also passionate about sound money and fiscal honesty. As someone who builds data systems for a living, I know what it means when the numbers don't add up — and Washington's numbers don't add up.

At the deepest level, I'm passionate about the principle that power belongs closest to the people it affects. Not in Washington. In your neighborhood, your school board, your community.
