In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am Doug Barrow, and I am running to represent you, our communities, our way of life, and the things that matter here in our backyard. I believe a representative should stay focused on home, our neighborhoods, local schools, small businesses, churches, parks, wildlife preserves, and community organizations. When the opportunity comes to represent our communities in Tallahassee, I will do so with honesty, integrity, and common sense. Local government should not be a Big Blue or MAGA Red conversation. It should not be about political parties deciding what happens in our communities. It should be about the people who live here. I have watched our communities come together to protect our way of life, but too often I have not seen our elected representatives stand beside us. That is why I decided to run. I want to bring the focus back to what matters here at home, protect our communities, preserve them for future generations, and help build a better tomorrow for our children, our neighbors, and everyone who calls District 94 home.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Communities should come before politics. Decisions made in Tallahassee should reflect the needs of the people who actually live here, not the priorities of political parties. I will fight to protect our neighborhoods, schools, businesses, churches, parks, and the character of our communities. My focus will always be on serving the people of District 94 with honesty, integrity, and common sense.Protecting our way of life means protecting our rural communities. I will oppose irresponsible commercial expansion and data centers that threaten places like Jupiter Farms. I support stronger public schools, better teacher pay, improved emergency services including a fire station for underserved areas, and meaningful action to lower insurance costs. Government should solve the problems families face every day.We should create more opportunity for the people who already live here. I believe in making housing more attainable, supporting first responders, veterans, teachers, and working families, while encouraging responsible long-term growth that protects our communities. My goal is simple: preserve what makes our community special and leave it stronger for the next generation.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Protecting local communities, preserving rural Florida, responsible growth, property insurance reform, public safety, strong public schools, affordable homeownership, infrastructure, environmental conservation, and accountable government.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Honesty, integrity, accountability, common sense, and putting the community before politics. An elected official should listen to the people they represent, focus on practical solutions, and always make decisions based on what is best for the local community rather than political parties or personal ambition.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

The responsibility of a state representative is to represent the people of the district honestly and ethically. That means protecting our communities, improving public safety, supporting strong public schools, investing in infrastructure, preserving our way of life, and passing legislation that addresses the everyday challenges facing Florida families.
