In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am Dory Benami, a small business owner, father, and Israeli-born American running for the United States House of Representatives to represent California’s 32nd Congressional District in the San Fernando Valley. I grew up in Reseda, built a career in international trade and business, and have spent years working with entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and working families. My wife is an immigrant from Colombia and together we are raising our daughter in Tarzana. I am running because our communities deserve practical leadership that focuses on safety, economic opportunity, strong alliances with democratic partners, and common sense solutions instead of political theater.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Public safety and quality of life must be restored in the San Fernando Valley. Families in Encino, Tarzana, Sherman Oaks, Woodland Hills, and across the district are dealing with organized burglary crews, rising homelessness, and fewer police resources. Washington must support local law enforcement with funding, technology, and cooperation across agencies while also addressing homelessness with practical solutions that treat people with dignity and move them off the streets and into services.America needs a smarter economic strategy that strengthens domestic industry and supports small businesses. I spent a decade working in international trade and saw firsthand how bad policy pushes manufacturing overseas and hurts American workers. We should protect critical supply chains, support advanced manufacturing, invest in innovation, and make it easier for small businesses to succeed rather than drowning them in regulation. The United States must stand firmly with its democratic allies and confront regimes that threaten global stability. As an Israeli-born American, I understand the importance of strong alliances and the dangers of extremism and terrorism. America should stand with Israel and other democratic partners while promoting security, stability, and peace through strength and clear moral leadership.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about public safety, economic opportunity, and protecting democratic allies abroad. Families in the San Fernando Valley deserve safe neighborhoods, strong local businesses, and leaders who focus on practical solutions instead of political theater. My background in international trade showed me how flawed policies hurt American workers and small businesses. As an Israeli-born American raising my daughter in this district with my immigrant wife, I also care deeply about defending democratic values, confronting extremism, and ensuring the United States stands firmly with allies like Israel while promoting stability and peace.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

The campaign is currently building a coalition of community leaders, small business owners, and residents across the San Fernando Valley. Formal endorsements will be announced as they are confirmed.
