In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I have proudly called this state my home for nearly my entire life. I'm a journalist and former writer for the Shelby County Reporter who has been recognized with multiple awards from the Alabama Press Association, primarily for my writings dealings with human interest, political and editorial topics. I've been a small business owner and have also worked in the hotel, food service and mortgage industries.

I have never been a partisan of party politics. I have always been a partisan of principles. Principles that unite all of us.

I believe, wholeheartedly, in the core freedoms that define America and that I believe define Alabama: the freedom of speech, the freedom of worship and the freedom from government interference in how we raise our kids, make a living and go about our lives.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I have never been a partisan of party politics. I have always been a partisan of principles. Principles that unite all of us.

I believe that the people of Alabama: our families, our workers, our veterans and our students all deserve better than the noise coming out of Montgomery.

I believe this state must focus closely on pursuing new economic avenues, preserving individual rights, passing smart legislation and legalizing marijuana. This state needs a senator who understands that freedom doesn’t come from more control, it comes from less interference. I am firmly against both federal and state overreach into the daily lives of Alabamians.

I support preserving our right to elect representatives to numerous boards and oversight organizations that the state is seeking to change to appointments.

I am against governmental interference in schools and libraries and I stand against federal deployments and takeovers within the state. We need leadership that cares less about soundbites and sideshows and more on the real issues.

I support establishing a statewide Dam Safety and Inspection Program to protect our towns, cities and public safety. As it stands, Alabama is the only state in the entire country that does not have a mandatory statewide dam safety or inspection program. Our current program, which is voluntary and only just allowed for public dams to take part on a case by case basis in 2024, simply does not do enough.

I also support repairing Alabama’s aging locks, roads, and inland waterway systems before they fail.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Infrastructure, Education, Healthcare, Marijuana Legalization, Public Safety, Immigration, Gun Rights

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

Alabama Cannabis Coalition, Mandie Ledkins for State Senate - District 14, David Morgan for State House District 41
