In their own words

Regular election

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a Queens mom, immigrant, organizer, and the Assemblymember for Astoria and Long Island City. I ran for office to fight for working families and ensure that everyone, regardless of income or background, has the opportunity to thrive.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Universal No-Cost Childcare: Every family deserves access to high-quality childcare regardless of income. I am fighting for universal no-cost childcare because no parent should have to choose between raising their children and making ends meet. Investing in childcare strengthens families, supports workers, and helps build a more affordable New York.Protect Immigrants & Abolish ICE: Queens is one of the most diverse communities in the world, and I am committed to protecting immigrant communities from attacks on their rights and dignity. I support New York For All, ending cooperation between New York State and ICE, and building a future where immigrant families can live safely and thrive without fear.Tenant Protections & Affordable Housing: Housing is a human right. I am fighting for stronger tenant protections, deeply affordable housing, and an affordability agenda that helps working families stay in the communities they helped build. New Yorkers deserve a government that puts people before wealthy landlords and corporate interests.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Universal no-cost childcare, affordable housing, tenant protections, immigrant rights, healthcare access, and workers' rights. As an organizer and now as an Assemblymember, I have focused on helping working families afford to live in New York and ensuring that every person, regardless of income, immigration status, or background, has the opportunity to thrive.
