In their own words

State House

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a husband, father, small business owner, community advocate, and lifelong Delawarean running to represent the people of the 3rd Representative District. Throughout my career, I have focused on bringing people together, creating opportunities, and serving.

As the owner of a local moving company, I have hired directly from the community I want to serve and economic opportunity begins with investing in people.

My campaign is rooted in the belief that government should be accessible and accountable to the people it serves.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

People deserve representation that is present, accessible, and accountable. I plan to be visible once my hand leaves the Bible at the swear in, post donations and election season. I want to ensure that every voice has an opportunity to be heard when decisions are being made.Strong and thriving communities begin with opportunity and investment. My campaign is centered on improving public education, expanding economic advancement and making everyday more affordable.Independent leadership means putting people before politics. I am running because I believe good ideas are not owned by any political party. I will work with anyone willing to solve problems honestly and respectfully. My decisions will be guided by what the People of District 3 want, not partisan pressure or special interest.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

My passion lies with protecting our youth from abuse, especially in our educational system. Many times these instances are hidden from public view until after a case is finished. Our children deserve to feel safe period. The youth are facing an epidemic of gun violence and trafficking. I plan to address that through data and legislation that is already on the floor or creating new language that fits what we want for our children.

Affordability and transparent access to the government. My goal is to advance practical policies that improve everyday life insuring while my district sends their children to our schools and while they are at work they have a representative that has their back and best interest at heart.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

I draw inspiration from a variety of leaders, entrepreneurs and historical figures who demonstrated courage, vision, and a commitment to improving their communities.

As someone who grew up immersed in hip-hop culture, I have always admired artist who built businesses, created opportunities and transformed their platforms into vehicles for economic empowerment.

I look towards historical figures such as Chairman Fred Hampton and Malcom X. I admire the willingness to confront injustice and educate the people. Their contribution to my own liberty and many others is an example to keep me focused on making meaningful tangible change.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Integrity is the most important quality an elected official can possess. Every decision, vote, and public station depends on the trust of the people. Integrity mean being honest even when it is difficult, keeping your word, and keeping the public interest ahead of personal or political gain.

An effective public servant should also demonstrate humility, empathy , and the willingness to work with people who have different views.

Great leadership is measured by trust earned and results delivered. I believe elected officials should leave their communities stronger than they found them.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

For someone to be making informed decisions by listening to the concerns of the district (and beyond). Advancing policies that improve their quality of life, that responsibility extends Leg Hall. It includes being accessible, transparent, and accountable to constituents the entire term.

If elected, I will focus on advancing policies that strengthen education, protect children and voting rights. My duty would is to serve the people no matter what it takes or looks like.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I hope my legacy is measured not by the offices I held, but by the lives I've helped improve and the trust restored in our democracy and humanity.

I want people to be inspired to do, not just be spectators in the thing we call life.

My eyes are on the future, so I hope that what I pour into the youth are what shapes the society my grandkids will flourish in.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

I've always worked since a youth, helping my mom out with moving things and technical support. Being early with the hustle of cutting grass shoveling snow, and selling candy. One of my early jobs I was employed through Wilmington's youth employment program at Holy Spirit doing janitorial work. that was just for the summer but I was proud that I was able to get new clothes for the start of high school

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Figuring out exactly where to channel my energy, I've done many things just to make ends meet and to build my skillset. To be focused on one major project like running for office exposed my strengths and weakness and gives me the opportunity to connect with the people to create the change we want to see.

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?

One that is built on mutual respect, open communication, and collaboration.

I believe that the strongest relationship is one where both branches challenge each other when necessary and remain focused on the betterment of the people

What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?

I believe over the next decade, the greatest challenge will be for our voting engagement to be doubled consistently through out presidential elections and mid-terms. The cost of living needs to be balanced so the people thrive and not just corporations and certain groups.

If i can help improve affordability, protect children from abuse and significantly improve our educational system then that is a win.

Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?

Compromise is both necessary and desirable when it helps achieve meaningful progress without sacrificing core principles.

However, compromise should never come at the expense of integrity, constitutional rights, or the well being of the people.

What was the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember?

My earliest memory is Thriller being premiered on ABC. Which as a child I didn't understand the significance, but as we know now its one of the best songs in modern history.

Looking at the question I also thought of 9/11/2001. One because it happened while we were at school and Jay-Z was releasing Blueprint that day so we were excited about that. But to see the towers getting hit and the concern of the teachers. We knew it was bigger than just going home early.
