In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
As a native Idahoan and a thoughtful conservative, I care deeply about the future of our communities and the families who call our state home. My life has been rooted in service—whether supporting my husband during his nine years in the Army, raising our six children, or working alongside parents and teachers as a PTA president.
Through these experiences, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges Idaho families face and the strength of our communities when people step up to serve.
I believe our state legislature should be made up of people who listen, work hard, and focus on practical solutions that help Idaho families thrive.
I’m running for the Idaho State Legislature because I want to bring a strong voice for families, schools, and our community to the Capitol—and continue a lifetime commitment to serving others.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Strong FamiliesStrong SchoolsStrong Communities
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about education in Idaho. We need take a hard look at our education funding formula to assess how funds are allocated in Idaho and ensure it’s transparent, accountable, and truly benefiting students. I want to ensure dollars reach classrooms—and don't get lost in bureaucracy—and that parents and communities can clearly see how decisions are made. Strong schools require both investment and accountability, and I’m committed to delivering both. I believe we can make improvements that increase transparency and accountability, while giving parents and teachers the choices and support they need.
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
I was in 4th grade when I found my grandfather, former US Ambassador to Finland Keith Nyborg, in my Idaho History book. I strive to follow in his footsteps through serving others. He loved his family and the great state of Idaho.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
I firmly believe in a community of kindness and cooperation. I’m not running to hold a title—I’m running to serve.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
I believe our state legislature should be made up of people who listen, work hard, and focus on practical solutions that help Idaho families thrive.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
My first job was picking rocks and dirt clods from thousands of potatoes during "Spud Harvest."
What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?
My mother has always said, “There is nothing more constant than change.” Idaho is changing, and change can be scary. One of the biggest challenges right now is the rising cost of living and the pressure it puts on families in my district.
