In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I grew up on a family farm in Puyallup in a union household, where I learned the values of hard work, service, and looking out for your neighbors. As the first person in my family to graduate from college, I experienced firsthand how education creates opportunity.
My career included fundraising, human resources, and mergers and acquisitions at Microsoft, but my greatest passion has been serving my community. For nearly 20 years, I have volunteered in our schools and nonprofits, served two terms on the Peninsula School Board—including as president during the COVID-19 pandemic—and helped unite our community to pass a long-overdue school bond after two decades of failed attempts. That experience reinforced my belief that we accomplish more when we work together.
In 2024, I was appointed to the Washington State Senate and was elected in 2025 to represent the 26th Legislative District. In my first term, I passed seven bipartisan bills into law, was selected as vice chair of two Senate committees, and secured $59 million in state investments for our district.
I'm running for re-election because too many families are struggling with the cost of housing, childcare, groceries, and transportation, while young people wonder if they can build a future in Washington. I believe government should bring people together to deliver practical solutions that strengthen our economy, expand opportunity, and leave the next generation with hope.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Making Washington more affordable is a top priority. I have worked to lower costs for working families and seniors by expanding property tax relief, increasing access to affordable healthcare and housing, opposing taxes that would make life more expensive, and advancing practical solutions that help people build a secure future in the communities they call home.Every Washingtonian deserves the opportunity to succeed. That's why I've worked to strengthen public education, expand career and technical education, and create pathways to family-wage careers. From helping rebuild our local schools to securing $42 million for the West Sound Technical Skills Center, I've focused on giving students and workers the skills and opportunities they need to succeed.I bring a practical, bipartisan approach to public service focused on delivering results. I work across the aisle to improve transportation, strengthen our economy, protect reproductive freedom, enhance public safety, and invest in the infrastructure and community services that Washington families rely on every day.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am most passionate about education, affordability, and creating opportunities for the next generation. As the mother of three children in their twenties, I think every day about the future they, and all young Washingtonians, are inheriting. I want every young person to have the opportunity to earn a good-paying job, afford a home, raise a family, and build a future in the community they love. That is what motivates my work in the Legislature: lowering costs, strengthening public education and workforce development, and expanding economic opportunity so the next generation has an even brighter future than the one before it.
What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?
