DeAndre Mathis is a U.S. Navy veteran, seasoned insurance professional, entrepreneur, and public servant with over 21 years of experience in the insurance industry. He is the only candidate in the race with direct, hands-on insurance industry experience.

A proud “Grady baby,” graduate of Frederick Douglass High School, and product of Atlanta Public Schools, he went on to earn his degree from Georgia State University, including a Master’s in Taxation.

DeAndre has built his career as an entrepreneur and advocate for Georgia families fighting for fairness, protecting consumers, and holding powerful institutions accountable. His service in the U.S. Navy and decades of industry experience shaped his discipline, leadership, and commitment to public service.

He is also a father and proud grandfather, further grounding his commitment to building a safer, more equitable future for Georgia families.

With deep community roots and unmatched insurance experience, he is running for Insurance Commissioner to ensure every Georgian has access to fair, affordable, and transparent coverage.
