Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Americans deserve a universal healthcare option. We live in the greatest country in the world, yet so many of our citizens go without essential care due to affordability issues. We shouldn't be putting off taking care of ourselves because if we do, we won't be able to afford rent or groceries that month. Our country should be investing in the health of its people. Our schools and the people that teach in them deserve better. We know that students thrive in classrooms that aren't overcrowded, and with talented teachers that aren't having their focus split from having to worry about working two jobs. We can and should provide that sort of environment. Investing in our public school system in investing in our country's future. This district suffers from brain drain. That means that too many of our talented individuals that grow up and learn here seek success elsewhere. We should have every bit the opportunity in here East Texas that can be found anywhere else in the state, including Dallas, Houston, and Austin.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Apart from the three main points of my campaign, I'm also passionate about reforming our laws surrounding THC. Our country shouldn't be so split that something you can buy in one state, will land you in jail for potentially decades in another. Especially when states that have legalized are seeing nothing but positive results from it, from small business growth to the tax revenue. The only thing benefiting from keeping it illegal is the private prison industry, which isn't something we should be propping up.

Campaign websiteAlexander's campaign website stated the following:KEY ISSUESRURAL HEALTHCAREHealthcare is a human right, not a luxury.Dax supports expanding Medicaid, capping prescription drug prices, investing in rural health clinics, and boosting broadband for telehealth access. His goal is affordable, universal healthcare coverage for every Texan, no matter their ZIP code.PUBLIC EDUCATIONPublic dollars belong in public schools.Dax opposes voucher schemes that siphon money from public schools to unaccountable private programs. He’ll fight for more federal education funding, especially for rural districts, low-income communities, and special education.ECONOMICOPPORTUNITYWe deserve a fair shot to thrive.Dax supports policies that grow good-paying jobs, strengthen small and rural businesses, and keep wealth circulating locally. He believes in fair wages, worker protections, and investments in infrastructure, broadband, and workforce training so families can build stable futures right where they live.POLICY VALUESImmigrationSecure borders. Humane solutions. Walls waste money and don’t work. Dax supports smart investments in technology, personnel, and bipartisan reform that respects human rights while keeping our communities safe.Women's RightsWe have to move forward.Dax supports codifying the right to abortion into federal law. It was a mistake to rely solely on Roe v. Wade. We need legislation that protects reproductive freedom across all 50 states, now and for future generationsGun SafetyResponsible gun ownership includes responsible laws.Dax supports universal background checks and red flag laws to help prevent gun violence, because protecting our rights and protecting our communities go hand in hand.Working FamiliesStrong families build strong economies.Dax supports universal pre-K, paid family leave, and affordable childcare. Families shouldn’t have to choose between making a living and raising their children.EnvironmentWe only get one Earth. Let's treat it like it matters.Climate change is real and here. Dax will fight for a strong, effective EPA and bold federal action to protect Texas’s air, water, and future.AccountabilityCongress should be a check on power, not a rubber stamp.Dax believes elected officials work for the people, not party leaders or billionaires. He’ll fight for transparency, real constituent engagement, and bold leadership rooted in listening, not lecturing.— Dax Alexander's campaign website (February 12, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source.
