In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
As a lifelong Nebraskan, I've had the ability to see numerous communities and build relationships across the state. I was born in McCook, went to college at Chadron State College, and now I wake up everyday excited to call Columbus home and excited that my role at the Chamber allows me to work to grow the Columbus area each and every day. I'm running for the Legislature to ensure that Columbus, Platte County, and LD22 continue to have a representative that has a strong understanding of the district and state, while also bringing a new perspective on how to address the various challenges that are presented to the Legislature each year. I'm a conservative Republican who believes in limited government, fiscal responsibility, and protecting the values that make our communities strong. I am running on the platform of Kids, Careers, and Running Government Like a Business.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
On kids, I am a firm believer that kids are our future, and I have two young daughters, and I hope they have the same opportunities I had growing up and choose to stay in Nebraska as they grow into adults. On careers, I have spent nearly my entire working career interacting with businesses and working to retain or grow the high quality careers offered in Nebraska by our businesses, and look forward to brining that same spirit to the Legislature, because without high quality careers, it will be increasingly difficult to recruit and retain our current and future Nebraskans. Finally on running government like a business, I believe that we need to continue to find efficiencies in state government and better partner with local governments to do the same to help lower the overall tax burden on Nebraskans across the state.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am most passionate about limiting government to remove or reduce regulations to provide constituents with more flexibility in how they live their life, raise their family, and run their businesses.
What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?
I am excited and honored to have the endorsement of Governor Jim Pillen, Congressman Mike Flood, and outgoing State Senator Mike Moser.
