David Seligman is the clear choice to be the people’s lawyer as Colorado Attorney General. He is the only one in this race with experience fighting for working families and the ideas we need to put the law back on our side, not corporations and politicians who’ve hijacked our system for themselves.David Seligman has spent his career standing up for working people on the front lines: in court, at the legislature, and on the picket line. David is a lawyer who is used to going up against the rich and powerful on behalf of the underdog. Over and over, he's taken on the Trump administration, powerful Democrats, and corporate oligarchs — and won.David Seligman wants to use the law boldly and courageously to unrig the system that's been taken over by corporations and special interests. Whether it's writing first-in-the-nation laws to fight wage theft, union-busting, or protect consumers, or standing up in court, David understands the convoluted fine print and how to beat the system. He's already come up with innovative legal strategies to protect working people from corporate giants trying to screw them out of their rights – as AG, he'll bring a scrappy underdog spirit to take on the big fights Coloradans need.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

-Holding Donald Trump and everyone who profits from his corruption and cruelty accountable.

- Prosecuting ICE agents and federal officials violating Coloradans' civil rights.

- Breaking up monopolies and going after fine-print contracts that keep workers trapped in jobs that don’t pay them what they deserve.

- Fighting to improve Colorado labor laws.

- Creating an environmental enforcement unit that will make polluters pay independent of the Governor’s role in policing corporate polluters.

- Prosecute health insurance companies who systematically deny claims and go after predatory providers and collectors that bill patients for medical debt they don’t owe.

- Crack down on corporate AI surveillance rigging prices and wages.

A state's attorney general has many responsibilities. Which of those do you personally consider the most important?

The most important role of government is keeping people safe, and that'll be my top priority as attorney general.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

I've dedicated my career to taking a two-tiered justice system. If we want people to believe in the rule of law, we need to show them the law can work for them, by taking the laws we have and putting it on the side of working families.

Campaign websiteSeligman's campaign website stated the following:Standing Up to CorruptionSuing Donald Trump is necessary–but it isn’t enough. Right now, his corruption and cruelty is supported by forces that think that they put themselves on the right side of the law by doing his bidding. The brutal immigration enforcement agenda has nothing to do with public safety and makes all Coloradans more vulnerable. The attorney general can fight back. And we must. David will be on the frontlines of the fight against Donald Trump and everyone who profits from his corruption and cruelty, using Colorado law to hold them accountable, including:Prosecuting ICE agents under Colorado law if they trample people’s rights, bully them, or kidnap them. See David's press release about the formation of an ICE Accountability Unit here.Prosecuting the billionaires and corporations that are bribing the administration. Picking up the cases the Trump Administration dropped against its corporate donors, including cases against the biggest banks and tech companies in the country Locking the mergers that Trump is letting through to do the bidding of his oligarch friends. Boldly enforcing Colorado’s civil rights protections, including shield laws that protect access to reproductive care and Colorado law that protects trans people.Fighting for WorkersWorking people are under threat. At a moment when the wealthiest corporations in the world continue to bring in record profits, it’s harder and harder to make ends meet in this state. And while Colorado has some important worker protections, we also have a long way to go. Only around 7% of private sector workers in this state have the protection and benefits of a union. We can’t rely on the federal government to protect workers. Colorado needs to step up. David will be a transformational attorney general in the fight for working people by using Colorado law to hold accountable the corporations that exploit working people by:Going after corporations that “misclassify” workers by profiting off them and controlling them while denying them their lawful wages, the right to a union, workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance and more. Using state law in bold and creative ways to protect workers’ safety, right to a union, and freedom from discrimination at a moment when the Trump Administration has gutted the federal laws and agencies designed to protect those rights. We can triple private sector union density in Colorado by 2030. Breaking up monopolies and going after fine-print contracts that keep workers trapped in jobs that don’t pay them what they deserve. Fighting to improve Colorado law, including by passing the Worker Protection Act. Prosecuting employers that exploit immigrant workers by retaliating against them or threatening them with ICE if they complain. Holding accountable the corporations that are using AI and algorithms to spy on workers and drive down their wages.Holding Big Tech AccountableSome of the wealthiest and most powerful corporations in the history of the world are becoming even more profitable building out technologies designed to increase prices, spy on us, and hijack our politics. The Trump Administration isn’t going to do anything – the CEOs of these companies were the ones standing behind him at his inauguration. But attorneys general can fight back. They have to. David will fight to hold Big Tech accountable, including: Protecting our kids from the social media and chatbots that are manipulating them. Going after the corporations that spy on us and use AI tools to jack up prices, drive down wages, or deny us healthcare. Fighting against the growth of data centers that are stealing our water and jacking up utility costs. Fighting against mass surveillance, including Flock cameras and other license plate reader technologies.Protecting Colorado's EnvironmentWe live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. But corporate and special interests are polluting our environment and blocking our access to public lands. David will fight for our environment and everyone’s right to access it, including by: Creating an environmental enforcement unit that will make polluters pay independent of the Governor’s role in policing corporate polluters. Companies like Suncor should no longer be able to pollute our environment and get just a slap on the wrist. Fighting to ban fracking and data centers and to protect clean air and water for everyone, especially for the communities too often denied it.Standing up to special interests and billionaires blocking access to rivers and waterways for rafters and anglers.AffordabilityEveryone who lives in Colorado should have the opportunity to thrive here, not just survive here. But right now far too many Coloradans are struggling to get by. That’s not an accident. Our affordability crisis is also an accountability crisis, where massive corporations get away with exploiting us while they make record profits. David will use the law boldly to hold the corporations who steal from us accountable and make life affordable, including by: Fighting to ban private equity ownership of single family homes, healthcare companies, and mobile home parks. Blowing up the monopolies that drive up the costs of everything from healthcare and housing to lift tickets, diapers, and online streaming. Attacking the fine print that keeps people trapped in everything from jobs to cell phone and gym contracts, and hammers them with hidden junk fees. Banning algorithms and AI that inflates our prices and allows corporations to collude over the most basic things, including our rent. Standing up to the corporate landlords and eviction mills that jack up the price of rent, unlawfully evict families from their homes, and fail to provide safe and healthy housing that the law guarantees.HealthcareOur current system puts profits over people, making life harder for everyday Coloradans. We need Medicare for All, but on our path there, state AG’s can fight against the healthcare corporations exploiting us for their own profit. David will take on big health care corporations, fix the broken system, and ensure that everyone who lives in this state can afford to thrive, including:Prohibiting private equity ownership of healthcare. Blocking the healthcare mergers that drive up costs for working families. Going after insurers that systematically deny claims. Fighting against abusive medical debt and medical debt collection, including by ensuring that hospitals provide access to free and reduced cost care as the law requires. Enforcing civil rights laws and shield laws to protect reproductive freedom and access to care, specifically ensuring those seeking reproductive care and trans care in Colorado are protected.— David Seligman's campaign website (May 16, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source.
