In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a husband, father, brother, and 14 year proud UAW member. I have made my home in St. Chalres since 2019. This area has been wonderful for my family and im running to protect the good and this community and make Missouri better than when I arrived here.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Our state needs legislatures who take the will of the people seriously. Too often the Missouri voters pass an initiative only for our representatives to act in contrast of our will. The role of government os to protect the rights of the people. This should include rights to safe work environment, access to healthcare, housing availability, and freedom of expression.Public dollars are for public goods and that needs to be affirmed in plain, simple language. We cannot afford to continue to funnel public dollars into private equity.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Good governance, public education, healthcare freedom, workers rights

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Ability to listen to differing opinions and to care about people.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To core responsibility is to represent the will of the district while protecting their rights from state over reach.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I would love for my legacy to be one of a person who chose what was right of what was popular; who made the ethical choice and not the easy one.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

My first job was McDonalds and I worked there for many years while going to college full time.

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Balancing my time between work, activism, friends, and family. Time is one resource we cannot buy more of, as I get older I am weighing my time more carefully.

What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?

The legislature should be crafting laws and making policy, the governor should be carrying out those policies.

What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?

Our state faces one challenge that will be a factor in all others, our budget. Years of cutting taxes and limiting services had lead to our state being underfunded in critical areas.

Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?

Yes, compromise can be necessary for policymaking. However, not everything should be negotiable. Some rights are too important to be limited or taken away for political expediency.

What was the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember?

The Columbine shooting, sadly it was the first of many such headlines.
