Background

David Jenkins was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and lives in Grantville, Georgia. Jenkins served in the U.S. Army from 1989 to 2015 and reached the rank of captain. He earned a bachelor's degree in technical management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2008.[1][2][3][4]

Jenkins' career experience includes owning Jenkins Farms and working as a lead pilot with Air Methods, a lead helicopter pilot with the Georgia Forestry Commission, and a police officer with Clayton County. He served on the board of the Roosevelt Memorial Airport Authority and as the master of Tyrone Lodge #644.[1][2][3][4]

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a retired Army Captain with 4 combat tours flying a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter. I have also served as police officer and a wild-land firefighter. I currently fly an air-ambulance helicopter serving my district and I run a family farm with my wife. I graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Magma Cum Laude with a BS in Management.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

The second ammendment is vital not only for personal defence but is the foundation of our American way of life.Capitalism has made America the most prosperious nation on earth we must not abandon it in favor of socialist mediocracy.Rural Infrastructure, primarily broadband access, must be developed for America to remain competitive in the 21st Century.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Rural Broadband, Healthcare, Public Safety

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

Abraham Lincoln- The phrase take the hard right over the easy wrong seems to be made for him. He led the country through our our darkest time. He always seemed to do the right thing.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Honesty. A strong moral compass. A good legislator cannot look around the room to determine what is right or moral.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

Honest, Intelligent, independent thinker

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Honesty. Must always serve the district, not the party or special interest.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

The election of Jimmy Carter, I was in kindergarden.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

I worked on the family farm until I joined the army.

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?

What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?

Transportation, rural development

Yes, a majority vote is required to get anything done. Without cooperation, nothing moves forward.
