In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am running to deliver practical solutions for the 25th District. With over two decades of experience working for Washington families, I understand that state policy must prioritize the economic stability of working people. My focus is clear: strengthening public education, protecting workers' rights, and expanding economic opportunities. I believe in making government work for everyone. I am a school board director and public education advocate committed to being a responsive representative who listens to your needs.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

It is the responsibility of the Legislature to amply fund basic education in Washington State. Their failure to meet their constitutional obligation has resulted in students having inequitable access to the services they need to succeed, and in teachers having inequitable access to the facilities and support they need to provide those services. Each student and staff member needs to feel safe and welcome at school every day. Their zip code, income, race, gender identity, language spoken at home -- I could go on -- should not limit the opportunities our schools can offer them. We can work together as parents, educators, legislators, and community members, to support public education and prepare our students for life after high school. One of the biggest challenges for any elected official is balancing urgency with collaboration. People rightly want action, but the best solutions usually require listening carefully, building trust, and working through disagreement without losing sight of the goal. My experience in advocacy and on the school board has taught me that meaningful progress depends on engaging early, being transparent, and staying focused on the community rather than the politics around an issue. I would meet that challenge the same way I have in other public roles: by listening, doing the homework, and working toward practical solutions that reflect the needs of the people I serve. My constituents want representatives who are willing to listen to them, and who are responsive to their needs. That’s been my practice for the last 5 years as a Board Director, and one I’ll bring with me to Olympia. I can’t promise to give everyone what they want, but I can promise they’ll be heard and they’ll be valued, something that many have told me does not hold true today.
