In their own words
Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I have grown up in the PNW. This is where my memories are, and where I plan to make more. After graduation, I decided to enter the workforce, getting a job at Costco. I worked there for 11 years. I worked in almost every department. I started out pushing carts. working my way up the ladder, I made my way to membership, finishing my career as a refund clerk. Costco taught me how to talk to the public, work hard and take direction. After a tough decision, I decided to follow my dreams and open up a Ninja warrior gym. We opened during the Covid chaos, having to navigate mask, cleaning, and shutdowns. The first few years were tough. But those first years taught me how resilient I am and how much I will fight for what I love.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
My first goal if elected is to balance the budget. The current legislators have a spending problem. Revenue has been growing year over year; spending is outpacing by an estimated 10%. The current solution being brought is to install a millionaire's tax. This tax will do a lot of good, and the ultra-rich need to pay a fair share. But without strict guardrails, this tax will lower the threshold until Washinton has an income tax for the middle and lower class. I will not allow an income tax to hurt those who are working so hard just to get by.My second agenda is the homeless population. Billions are spent every year to attempt to help the unhoused. Shuffling encampments from one place to another is hurting trust, spending a lot of money, and wasting resources. Understanding why people are homeless is the first step. Be that by job loss, mental health or tragedy. This would require more money being spent on treatment, mental health professionals, and outreach. All can be accomplished with the current funding provided. My third goal is to improve infrastructure. We have bridges, road, sidewalks in disrepair. My drive to work requires me to go on what I can only describe as a safari ride. The Biden bill help start the rebuild, but it needs to remain a priority.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Police reform, Policy regulation, minimum wage
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
I look up to Jasmine Crockett. She is strong willed, well spoken and puts the people first.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Honesty and integrity
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To serve the people whom elected them. Not special interest groups
What legacy would you like to leave?
Bringing stability to Washington. Taking it from an expensive state to one families can afford to live in.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
Costco. I worked there for 11 years
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
I lost my brother almost a decade ago. He was my best friend. I have opened a business, got married and now run for election. I know he would be proud of me, but life is harder without that person to call when you need someone to talk to.
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?
The governor should have an input. But each person elected knows the plight of the people they serve. They should be able to function without the input of higher government.
What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?
Fiscal responsibility. Spending keeps going up and up. Lots of people need help, lots of organizations deserve to be funded. But without sticking to a budget, it ends up hurting low and middle class people more than it helps.
Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?
Compromise can be a useful tool to get legislation over the line. But when it results in a weaker bill, it is doing more harm than good.
What was the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember?
9/11. Was going to the Puyallup fair with my family. Was woken up to my mom saying we may not go because the country was attacked.
