Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
David did not set out to run for Congress; he set out to serve.
After 30 years in the Air Force, recent service as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon, and 17 years as your neighbor in Loudoun County, Dave Beckwith believes serving VA-10 is the next right step.
At the Pentagon, he managed complex national security programs and a $500B portfolio spanning space systems, nuclear and missile defense, and national intelligence. He oversaw major Intelligence Community acquisitions (NRO, NSA, DIA), ensuring systems were built right, on budget, and on time.
His education reflects the same commitment to excellence that has defined his entire career. Dave earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton, and is a graduate of the United States Army War College, one of the most prestigious senior military educational institutions in the country.
After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at Orbital ATK and SAIC.
Dave actively serves in his church and has held various leadership roles, including on the church's missions ministry. This passion has allowed him to travel to Malawi, Africa, every summer, where he supports the education of 12 students and helps provide clean water and basic infrastructure. Dave is a husband, a father and a two time cancer survivor. For Dave, service has never been limited to a uniform or a title. It is simply who he is.
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
Dave Beckwith believes the government should never take more from hard-working families than it needs. He will fight to keep the $40K SALT deduction permanent, to index capital gains to inflation, and to simplify the tax code so hard work is rewarded at every income level. On energy, Dave backs an all-of-the-above strategy that frees innovation from red tape, ends market-distorting subsidies, and supports reinvestment in nuclear power as a clean, proven, job-creating source for Virginia’s future. Across regulation, education, and healthcare, he will support less interference, more family power; cutting red tape; expanding school choice and vocational education and training; requiring health care price transparency; and expanding HSAs.Dave stands steadfastly with our men and women in uniform who protect our communities. He believes in firm, fair justice that prioritizes law-abiding citizens and victims' rights and removes violent repeat offenders from our neighborhoods. He will work to ensure that prosecutors and judges apply the law firmly so that repeat offenders are held accountable and kept off our streets. He supports deploying every available resource to address spikes in violent crime. He will fight for a fully funded, well-equipped military, which is the single greatest deterrent to those who wish to do us harm. He will fight for a defense budget that maintains America's technological edge while demanding accountability and efficiency from the DoD.Washington collects a record $5.2T a year yet the deficit is about $1.8T. That's not an income problem, it's a spending problem. Dave will support disciplined spending caps that reflect what taxpayers can afford and oppose locking pandemic era emergency spending into the permanent baseline. The debt nears $40T, and about $1T a year now goes to interest. Every dollar lost to interest is a dollar that can't go toward innovation, infrastructure, or tax relief for working families. Dave will target waste, fraud, and abuse and enforce rigorous oversight. We must reform federal programs and cut wasteful spending to protect our financial sovereignty. It's our moral obligation to the next generation to solve this problem now while we still can.

Campaign websiteBeckwith's campaign website stated the following:Restoring Economic VitalityDave Beckwith believes the government should never take more from hardworking families than it needs. In Northern Virginia, where the cost of living is already high, that principle matters. He will fight to keep the $40,000 SALT deduction permanent for middle-class families, index capital gains to inflation so homeowners are not taxed on phantom gains, and simplify the tax code so hard work is rewarded at every income level. On energy, Dave supports an all-of-the-above strategy that gets government out of the way of innovation, ends market-distorting subsidies, and makes a bold reinvestment in nuclear power as a clean, proven, job-creating energy source for Virginia's future. On regulation, education, and healthcare, Dave's approach is the same: less government interference and more power in the hands of families. He will fight to reduce the federal regulatory burden that costs our economy billions every year, support school choice and vocational training so every student has a path to a good career without crushing debt, and push for full healthcare price transparency and expanded Health Savings Accounts so patients, not insurance companies, are in control of their own care.Safety and Security in Our CommunitiesDave Beckwith believes that safety is not a luxury, it is a foundation. Every family in Virginia's 10th District deserves to know that their loved ones can go to work, to school, and back home without fear. That starts with strong, well-supported law enforcement and a justice system that actually holds people accountable.Dave will always stand with the men and women in uniform who protect our communities, from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office to the U.S. Capitol Police. He believes in firm, fair justice that prioritizes the rights of victims and removes violent repeat offenders from our neighborhoods. He supports the strategic use of every available resource, including the National Guard when necessary, to restore order in areas facing spikes in violent crime. On the national level, Dave understands that peace comes through strength. A military that is fully funded, equipped, and ready is the single greatest deterrent to those who wish to do us harm. He will fight for a defense budget that maintains America's technological edge while demanding accountability and efficiency from the Department of Defense.Read more about what Dave stands for and how he plans to keep our communities safe below.Fiscal ResponsibilityDave Beckwith believes Congress should live by the same rules that every family and small business in Virginia already follows: do not spend more than you take in. Washington currently collects a record $5.2 trillion in federal revenue every year, and yet the national deficit still sits at roughly $1.8 trillion. That is not a revenue problem. That is a spending problem, and it has gone unaddressed for far too long. Dave will fight for disciplined spending caps that reflect the reality of what taxpayers can actually afford, and he will never support allowing pandemic-era emergency spending to become the permanent baseline for how Washington operates. The consequences of inaction are no longer abstract. The national debt is approaching $40 trillion, and we now spend approximately $1 trillion every year just on interest payments. That is more than the entire national defense budget. Every dollar lost to interest is a dollar that cannot go toward innovation, infrastructure, or tax relief for working families. Dave will fight to root out the waste, fraud, and abuse that costs taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars every year, recover funds lost to improper payments, and implement the kind of rigorous oversight that restores public trust in how their money is spent. We have a moral obligation to the next generation to solve this now, while we still can.Uphold our 2nd Amendment RightsDave Beckwith believes Congress should live by the same rules that every family and small business in Virginia already follows: do not spend more than you take in.
