In their own words
Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
I am a political outsider, a small business owner, and an investor. I am passionate about running in my home district, since our Representatives over the last several years have never responded to my concerns, recommendations, or solutions. What we need are more businesspeople making decisions in both parties and fewer career politicians.
My priority is to “Protect Texas Families” and small businesses from rising costs. Lowering energy costs and water bills: The expansion of energy grid infrastructure, funded by billions of dollars invested by AI Data Centers, is being paid for by individuals and businesses, not Data Centers who are exempt from most taxes.People & others on fixed incomes pay more in homeowner insurance and property taxes than they pay in principal & interest on their loan. I recall when the insurance and tax portion was approximately 30% of the monthly payment. Their grown children don’t expect them to be able to afford their homes long term. The younger generation can’t afford a home. Through insurance reform that cuts out all the middlemen and bureaucracy, eliminates marked-up premiums, and provides more relief on property taxes, more people can afford a home. Landlords charge 25-30% higher rent due to outrageous insurance and property tax costs.Fix Public-School Education: We need to put funding back into the classroom, not into bureaucracy. Taxpayers need easy access to transparency and accountability in how our money is spent. The school system needs structural reform. Education needs to expand career and educational pathways. Lastly, it is disappointing that our dedicated teachers pay for school supplies out of their own pockets and not the public schools. Deserted schools create lower home property values and pride in our neighborhoods.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
There are ways to eliminate property taxes without raising taxes. The sales tax exemptions for many industries would eliminate a portion of the taxes. Easy transparency for people to see how our education money is being spent. Also, insurance reform for auto, home, and health. My priorities are just to lower costs for all Texans and is neither a right nor left issue, but a Texan issue.
