In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

My name is Danni Hall. My husband works in the oil industry and 13 years ago we made the best decision of our lives and moved to Anchorage. We have raised our two fabulous daughters in the Huffman/O’Malley area. Many of our favorite memories are spending days fishing on the Kenai, hiking on local trails as a family, and camping all across the state. I’ve worked in various industries including customer service, Real Estate, river guiding, the admin office at our local school district, and starting a small entrepreneurial business. Although my fast downhill ski days are behind me, you can catch me taking wide turns on the lower mountain and enjoying a hot chocolate in the lodge.

I am always willing to step up, ask questions, and listen to others. I think the public deserves legislators that are reliable, honest, and want to protect the interests of everyday Alaskans. That is why I am running for office.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I am standing up for education. I want to see schools forward and fully funded. Schools are not an afterthought and teachers and students are not political pawns. They are the backbone to our future and the heart of our community. We need smaller class sizes, sports and extracurriculars, and better teacher retention. Here on Hillside we have the ongoing risk of wildfires. We have plans that will lower risk and save lives, but currently, these plans cannot be implemented in their entirety. Everybody deserves to feel safe in their home and know that the community has adequate emergency plans for worst case scenarios. Our first responders need to be fully funded and fully staffed. Our valued public servants should be paid a living wage, and given a benefits system that allows them to retire with dignity.Alaskans deserve to receive their constitutional right to receive a fair share for our resources. This means we close the S-corp loophole. My husband works in the oil industry and I understand that many hardworking families in the community rely on this industry for their livelihoods. I want to see both sides prosper and most importantly see energy costs lowered. There is a middle ground to be found and I am committed to working to find that balance.

I would also like to see diversified energy available to Alaskans as a remedy to the rising costs we see every year. Alaska's resources can provide for us in more ways than just oil and gas and I would like to see the state put some focus on projects that will directly lower our energy bills.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

My number one passion is education. I will not rest until our schools are back at the top. Prioritize schools and give them the resources they need. That's it. It's not a complicated solution. It's time we put education back at the top of the priority list.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?
