In their own words

Kansas House of Representatives

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Army combat veteran who got into politics because Kansans' Constitutional rights have been infringed on by their government. Everything from revoking the driver's licenses of 12,000 Kansans with no notice, to outlawing our children's First Amendment rights to free speech and protest; the current incumbent has allowed basic Constitutional Rights, in which I risked my life and wore the US Army uniform to defend, to be disregarded.

I am pro-union and pro-nurses, and will fight to ensure nurses have a manageable patient-to-nurse ratio that will not needlessly risk the lives of patients nor the sanity of our nurses.

I will fight to ensure our teachers and school staff are paid a wage they can thrive on. No teacher should require a second job over the summer just to make ends meet. We need our teachers to be free to focus their efforts on educating our kids to be literate and gain the knowledge they need to succeed for our future.

I want to break the mold of the current Democratic party. I will be a Democrat who will fight for your rights with the same intensity and passion that I held the line while wearing the military uniform.

I am seeking to bring government back to the People of Kansas, not special interests and not the ultra-wealthy who've had the ear of government for far too long, while normal, hardworking Kansans have been ignored for years.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Strengthen Education by providing a thriving wage to Teachers and the staff that supports those teachers.

No teacher should have to worry about paying their bills, they should be able to focus on preparing our children to take over the torch for the next generation.

Our future depends on teachers being empowered to develop our future leaders, workers, movers and shakers that will carry us into the future.I want to bring government back to normal, hardworking Kansans. I will bring back regular town halls for normal Kansans of District 88 to have a venue to speak their minds and inform me on what's important to them; not just my political party's agenda.

For far too long, special interests and the ultra-wealthy have had a disproportionate influence on how our government runs. I want to bring a voice back to the normal workers of Kansas.

Taxation without representation means something to me. The working class have paid taxes without being adequately represented for far too long. I aim to change that trend and bring government back to working for the majority, and that majority are the working class, not the Epstein-class.Service over Politics is my slogan, and I will carry that idea with me into being a representation for my district.

Current legislators have lost sight that they are public servants, who are elected to Serve their District. They are there to be a representative of the people in their district, not the billionaires who donate to campaigns, not the lobbyists who shout in Topeka to drown out the voices of the Kansans back home in this district.

I know what it means to Serve. I wore the uniform of a Soldier. I served Kansans going to Baghdad in 2009. I continued to Serve defending taxpayer's rights when dealing with the IRS during my time in Taxpayer Advocate Service in federal service.

And I'll continue to serve in the legislature

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Taxes, we need to close the loopholes the ultra-wealthy have built in to take advantage of their influence within the government.

Education, we need to fully fund both General Education and Special Education fully. And ensure those funds make it to the classroom, to the teachers and their support staff who do the actual teaching of our kids.

Defending Constitutional Rights under both the US and the Kansas Constitution. I wore the uniform to defend these rights in military service; and I will continue to defend those rights as a legislator.

A strong economy is dependent on the strength and spending power of the middle-class. We need to provide relief to our workers and the middle-class, and limit the loopholes of the Epstein-class.
