In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I’m Daniel Frick, an Air Force veteran, businessman, and dad raising four children in northern Fort Collins. I served in aircraft maintenance and later deployed as a contractor in Afghanistan, where I saw combat firsthand. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and an MBA.

My wife Patti and I have deep roots in Colorado. I’ve lived here since 2010 and am committed to keeping northern Fort Collins and Larimer County a place where families can afford to live, work, and raise their kids. As a paid caregiver for my son through Medicaid, I see every day how government policies affect real families.

I’m not a career politician. I’m running for House District 53 because I believe we can do better — lowering the cost of living, protecting parental rights, and bringing common-sense fiscal responsibility back to the state capitol.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Make Fort Collins affordable again for working families.

Housing costs, rents, taxes, and everyday expenses have risen faster than incomes for too many people here. I will fight for real relief so families can stay rooted in the community they love instead of being priced out.Parents, not bureaucrats, should have the primary say in their children’s upbringing and education.

I believe families know their kids best. I will work to protect parental rights and ensure our schools focus on giving children the tools they need to succeed, not pushing ideological agendas. We need fiscal responsibility at the state capitol.

Colorado faces a significant budget shortfall while families are struggling with the high cost of living. I will push back against wasteful spending and support policies that live within our means so taxpayer dollars are used wisely and costs don’t keep rising for the people who actually live and work here.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Defending TABOR and fiscal responsibility — TABOR protects taxpayers by limiting government growth and requiring refunds when the state over-collects. I believe we must preserve these safeguards so families keep more of what they earn.

Medicaid accountability — As a paid caregiver for my son, I’ve seen the system up close. We need to reduce fraud and waste so that people who genuinely qualify receive the services they need, without burdening taxpayers.

Protecting constitutional rights, especially the 2nd Amendment and the full Bill of Rights — These fundamental liberties belong to every citizen and must be defended against government overreach.
