In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I came to this community first as a student at Binghamton University straight out of high school. During that time, I became politically active through organizing and participating in the global movement against the Iraq War.

When I moved back to Binghamton 18 years ago, I moved into a one-bedroom apartment and signed up for a term of service with AmeriCorps at the Broome County Council of Churches helping coordinate free community meals throughout the county.

My involvement with electoral politics began in the weeks prior to Super Tuesday as I started volunteering with the Bernie Sanders Campaign for President in '16. In '18 I successfully ran for Binghamton's 2nd'District, and served as a councilmember the following year. During my time on council, I uncovered a privatization scheme at the regional wastewater treatment facility, and organized closely with the unionized plant staff, and from a superminority position on council to successfully thwart it.

In '20 I served as a NYCD-22 delegate to the DNC for Bernie Sanders. From '21-'23 I served as the founding Executive Director of the Cannabis Association of New York, where I organized small and midscale businesses across NYS to develop policies that became part of the legal framework of NY's cannabis industry. Most recently, I have been organizing electoral and issue campaigns locally, and across the state.
