I, Curtis A. Shaver, bring more than 30 years of railroad service and experience in law enforcement and the courts. My work across the executive and judicial branches has shown me the need for common-sense legislation that strengthens our communities, supports working families, and protects the rights of West Virginians.I will stand up for first responders, parents, teachers, seniors, veterans, and working families. I will listen to the people who serve our communities and support practical laws that help them stay strong and safe.I will work to pass common-sense legislation that serves West Virginians. I believe decisions affecting a community should be made by the people closest to it, through their county commissions and municipal governments.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about protecting local communities’ right to make decisions that affect them. I also want to address rising utility costs, improve roads and access to clean water and broadband, and support strong public education and affordable health care. My years in public service and on the railroad have taught me to listen to working families, seniors, veterans, and first responders and focus on practical solutions.
