In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

My career and life experiences prepared me for this moment, and I felt an obligation to step up. I grew up in Augusta in a working-class family — my parents immigrated from Trinidad and Tobago, my dad was an electrician, my mom an office worker and veteran. Every penny counted — we only ran the AC at night in the Georgia summers. That experience stuck with me through Georgia Tech, where I earned my electrical engineering degree (practicing 5 years on complex data and telecom matters), through law school at Georgia State, and through my career as an intellectual property attorney working with the exact technologies shaping Georgia's energy future — AI (data centers), electric vehicles, renewable energy, telecom. When I looked at the PSC, I saw leadership captured by utility interests, making decisions that hurt similarly positioned families I grew up alongside.

I’m running because the PSC needs someone who respects ratepayers enough to listen to their concerns, and respects the role enough to maintain true independence. Someone who understands the engineering, reads the fine print, and has the backbone to say no on behalf of ratepayers. Georgia families and small businesses deserve a PSC that respects them as much as utilities respect their shareholders.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I have the expertise to do the job right. The PSC oversees billions of dollars in utility infrastructure decisions. I have an engineering degree from Georgia Tech and practiced law for over 15 years representing clients in energy and technology. That dual background means I can read the technical plans AND the corporate fine print. Georgia needs a commissioner who can ask the hard questions and understand the answers — not one who rubber-stamps what utilities put in front of them.We should be competing smart, not desperate. Economic development is important and it's something the PSC should consider, but it should not override our responsibility to ensure safe, affordable, and reliable energy for Georgia families. Before we commit Georgia families and small businesses to decades of costs for new gas plants, we need to verify that the demand is real, that large industrial users are contractually committed, and that ratepayers aren't left holding the bag if those projects don't materialize. We need to ask: are they paying their full share?

I support good jobs, clean air, and affordable energy for every Georgian. Solar is increasingly the cheapest new generation available.Protecting low-income Georgians and seniors. Too many Georgia families face some of the highest energy burdens in the country — not because they’re wasteful, but because they’re living in older, less efficient homes. I’ll work to strengthen the Universal Service Fund, expand weatherization programs, and ensure the PSC evaluates every rate decision through an energy burden lens. Every penny counts, and the families stretching the hardest deserve a commissioner fighting for them.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Energy affordability, consumer protection, and ensuring Georgia’s energy infrastructure is safe, reliable, and affordable for all families. I’m passionate about holding monopoly utilities accountable to the ratepayers they serve, promoting cost-effective renewable energy and grid modernization, and making sure decisions about Georgia’s energy future (including data center growth) are made transparently with ratepayer interests first.
