Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Conrad Schoeffter came to America in 1977 from Switzerland, chasing a dream — and found one. After an executive career first in film/TV and later, seafood farming, now is his time to give back by protecting and growing everything that makes New Hampshire the freest, safest, best state in the Union.

Affordability starts with no new taxes.Property taxes can be capped by increasing the efficiency of our school system.A rent-to-own program will make home ownership possible for young people — so the next generation can build their lives right here in New Hampshire.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Protecting all aspects of the "New Hampshire advantage." Ensuring that New Hampshire remains affordable for everyone, inc. the elderly.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Respect and compassion for neighbors and the ability to understand viewpoints other than one's own.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
Being responsive to your constituents' concerns and honoring the NH state constitution
What legacy would you like to leave?
A legacy of selflessness.
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
It was a summer job with 20th Century Fox international film distribution.
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
Coming to terms with being gay.
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?
The New Hampshire governor and legislature are privileged to have a shared philosophy but also the independence to override the governor's vetoes.
What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?
Encouraging economic growth and development without destroying the natural environment and rural character of New Hampshire.
Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?
Compromise is essential. The alternative is gridlock.
What was the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember?
The assassination of J. F. Kennedy.
