In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I was raised in the City of Covington (since before it was a city) in District 47. I met my wife while we were in middle school, she grew up just a few blocks from me off of Wax Road. After growing up and watching the city grow up along side us, I started my first business just out of high school which ultimately let to a career in real estate development. Throughout my career I delivered hundreds of homes to Washington State but each year it became harder and harder to deliver more housing. After securing my career, my Wife and I settled down to start a family in Auburn. My son learned to walk in Isaac Evans Park and learned to swim at the local pool. We continue to enjoy the districts many amenities, and hope to continue to raise our family here, we welcomed another boy just this last November.

In addition to my local roots and my professional background, being recognized as a top 40 under 40 business professional in South Sound Business; I also hold an interdisciplinary multi-major in Economics, Policy Analysis, Politics, and Philosophy. In the course of my studies I worked as policy staff for Senator Jeff Wilson, and worked for the Tacoma-Pierce Chamber of Commerce as a Business Advocate.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

I am tired of politicians on both sides focusing so heavily on how to divide the economic pie. The left keeps attacking the wealthy and the right keeps attacking immigrants. We need to get back to a place where we are focused on economic growth, the world is a better place when the pie is getting bigger for everyone. Politics shouldn’t be about pork barrels, it should be about protecting individual life, liberty, and property, and fostering economic growth.Supply side economics isn't always the answer, but the state has severely constrained housing supply with excessive regulation, taxation, and bureaucratic bloat. We need to implement structural reform to zoning code, building and energy code, and the make-up of the building codes council, to restore housing supply in our state and reduce the cost of housing.Constitutional rights continue to be assailed by the State of Washington and the Federal Government. We need to take a far more absolute stance in defense of the rights that the establishment seems insistent on taking away.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Having earned a degree in policy analysis, I'm passionate about all public policy. I have developed an extensive policy survey for my district to describe my interests and solicit feedback from the community. Please consider taking a look: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QXBK3DC.
