In their own words

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a fifth-generation Kansan, business owner, advocate, and Democratic candidate for the United States Senate. I am running because I believe hardworking Kansans deserve a proven leader who shows up, listens, and works for them.

Throughout my career, I have focused on strengthening Kansas communities and growing the state’s economy. As Kansas Director for the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development, I oversaw major investments in businesses, infrastructure, housing, and healthcare projects across the state while also leading a nationwide effort to cut red tape and make federal programs work better for the people they serve. Through my work in both the public and private sectors, she has helped generate billions of dollars of economic impact in Kansas.

I believe Kansans are uniquely equipped to tackle tough challenges because they do not quit. As a fifth-generation Kansan, wife, and mom, I carry a deep sense of responsibility to the generations who built the state and to the families who will inherit it. My campaign for the Senate is rooted in that belief: that Kansas deserves leadership grounded in service, accountability, and the promise of a government that truly works for the people.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Throughout my career as a business owner, advocate, and public servant, I have worked to strengthen Kansas communities and grow our economy. As Kansas Director for USDA Rural Development, I oversaw investments in businesses, infrastructure, housing, and healthcare projects that generated billions of dollars in economic impact for our state. I believe public service should be about solving problems and making government work for the people it serves.Too often, the dysfunction in Washington leads to higher costs, uncertainty, and policies that do not reflect the needs of people back home. Kansans deserve a senator who will ask tough questions, demand accountability, and focus on solutions that strengthen our economy, support rural communities, and help families build stable futures. As a fifth-generation Kansan and a mom, I believe deeply in the values that built this state: hard work, responsibility, and community. Kansans know how to tackle tough challenges because we do not quit. I am running for the United States Senate to help rebuild trust in government and ensure it works for the people, by the people, and for the people.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about strengthening Kansas communities, improving access to affordable healthcare, and ensuring government works effectively for the people it serves. As Kansas Director for USDA Rural Development, I supported investments in rural infrastructure, housing, healthcare facilities, and small businesses across the state. I have seen firsthand how strong communities and accessible healthcare help families thrive. I am also committed to cutting unnecessary red tape and improving accountability so that public programs deliver real results for Kansans.

Campaign websiteDavis' campaign website stated the following:Why Christy Matters to KansansPrices are rising, hospitals are closing, and our schools are under attack. We deserve leaders who understand how failed policies are impacting Kansans - and will show up to help solve our problems. Christy Davis is a fifth-generation Kansan, survivor, and proven leader who has worked for families and communities in every one of the state's 105 counties. She is not just another candidate.HealthcareFederal cuts are putting lives at risk and forcing hospitals to close. Christy will fight to fund care, not gut the programs all Kansans rely on.EducationThe coordinated attack on our public schools is at odds with our basic values. Every Kansas child deserves an equal opportunity to succeed. Christy will stand firmly against any efforts to de-fund our public schools.ImmigrationImmigrants have always contributed to this great nation. Christy will fight for immigration reform that provides a pathway to citizenship and ends inhumane policies that terrorize families and unconstitutionally deprive Kansans of due process.AgricultureTariffs and uncertainty are threatening Kansas farms and rural communities. Christy will work with farmers to protect our state's largest industry - and with rural leaders to ensure our communities have the infrastructure and support they need to thrive.— Christy Davis' campaign website (July 29, 2026)Note: This text is quoted verbatim from the original source.
